DALIA MARQUEZ

Lawyer with a Master in Human Rights and protection systems. She has more than 13 years of experience as an activist on environmental topics, peacebuilding and human rights. She was SCP SPI Regional Focal Point at the UN MGCY. She is an environmentalist, pacifist and founder of various activism networks at a national and global level.

Areas of Work

Advocacy We facilitate the collective participation of young people in official, formal and informal  avenues of policy design, implementation, monitoring, follow-up, and review at all levels.

Capacity Building. We facilitate activities for young people to enhance their understanding, knowledge, and skills in relation to sustainable development, meaningful engagement, and the UN system.

Knowledge. Provide young people a platform for dialogue to create an evidence base for best practices through the assessment of existing knowledge, generating new knowledge, identification of emerging issues, and effective use and dissemination.

Action. We provide young people with a platform that encourages them to lead, join, showcase, and share innovative and effective actions addressing the needs of people and the planet.

Scope of Work

• In addition to topic and region we also convene our coordination structures by types of entities/organisations by scope of work, and by organisational standing in the UN.

• These include dedicated space for grassroots/local youth, national, regional and international youth entities. In addition we also seek to bring together youth organisations that have different types of standing in the UN system.
