  • M.A. in Education form Phoenix University
  • Have been working at SDUHSD since 2011 at numerous high schools and middle schools
  • Have worked at PTMS since 2016

  • I enjoy traveling, gardening,crocheting, playing tennis/pickleball, walk at the beach, bike, spend time with my family, cooking, or shop on my free time

Math AH overview

In Math A Honors students will learn 7th grade Math standards in eight modules:

  • Module 1: Probability, Percent, Rational Number Equivalence
  • Module 2: Operations with Rational Numbers and Integers
  • Module 3: Expressions
  • Module 4: Equations, Inequalities, and Applications
  • Module 5: Proportional Reasoning
  • Module 6: Geometric Figures and Scale Drawings
  • Module 7: Measurement in Two and Three Dimensions
  • Module 8: Probability and Statistics

Grading

Grades for this class will be calculated with the following weighting and enters into Aeries frequently.

      • 75% Assessments (Tests, Quizzes, Projects, etc.)
      • 25% Assignments (Homework, Homework Quizzes, Warm- Ups, Notes, etc.)

Homework

  • Assigned daily, homework is posted on the whiteboard, Google Classroom, and the class website, and is to due the next class meeting.

  • Must be completed, corrected using the key provided in Google Classroom, and submitted in Google Classroom.

  • Late homework accepted only if there is an excused absence.

  • Students have received 3 late homework pass to use to get full credit on homework assignments that are turned in late.

Assessments

Assessments are 75% of overall grades.

  • There is at least one 50 points quiz per module
  • One 100 points test per module.
  • There are not retakes for any quiz or final assessment.
  • We will review, correct, and reflect the assessments in class.
  • If further review of an assessment is necessary, then students may come in during the homeroom or make an appointment to go over your work.

How to preparing for assessments?

  • Re-do missed homework problems
  • Review the notes and class activities!
  • Raise hand & ask questions during class
  • Find a classmate to call for help & to study with.
  • Make an appointment to see Mrs. Memar to get help

Your student needs help?

  • Ask for a homeroom pass to come and see me
  • Make an appointment to meet at homeroom.
  • Watch educational videos on Khan Academy ,work on extra worksheets using the link on the resource page on my website
  • Don’t wait until the last minute to get help!
