Dearest Meg,I joined RCS during my sophomore year after not having sang since my middle school choir, and when I auditioned for RCS, I was terrified. But, I remember you being in the audition room and helping me immediately feel at ease. Beyond that, every rehearsal we had since, I would always look up from my sheet music and always see your smiling face. RCS and the Harvard Choruses will be missing you– a shining star. Thank you for everything.
Thank you, Meg, for being an inspiring conductor, for creating a welcoming and encouraging RCS community, and for sharing your love and knowledge of music. I often find myself making connections between my pursuits now and what we sang in RCS. You were a memorable part of my college experience. Best wishes for the future!

Thank you for everything Meg. I have felt so welcomed into the RCS community, and you made that possible. I have grown so much as a singer – I have been challenged every single rehearsal and I’m grateful for the chance that I had to learn from you. Wishing you the best in all of your future endeavors. You left an impact on RCS that will never be forgotten <3
Thank you Meg for always believing in me and in RCS. You always have such confidence in our abilities and so much respect for us as artists as well as singers. It really means a lot to work with someone who has such high expectations and such confidence that we can meet them. You are the kind of person I want to grow to be. Spending time with you has already made me a better person.

Meg, your gifts are bountiful! You will make a tremendous impact on the world. The students of Radcliffe Choral Society and the other Harvard choruses are blessed to have had you supporting them for so many years. The plant images on the border of this message are spot-on, because the seeds you have planted will grow and bear fruit well into the future. Warmest wishes and thanks to you.

Dear Meg,
I can’t explain how much RCS meant to my Harvard experience and how much I was touched by your passion, kindness and generosity throughout my RCS time. I only got to be at Harvard for a year, but you are part of the people that made me feel so welcomed and worthy to be there.
Your leadership, presence and charisma were a great gift to RCS, and I have no doubt that you will shine at HKS. Harvard will miss your great musical talents, but know that you and your music has marked the hearts of a lot of us.
I wish you all the best,Julia

Dear Meg,
Thank you for making RCS such a special community, and congratulations on your next step! I treasure the friends that I met through RCS, the memories that we made on tour to the Pacific Northwest and Bay Area, and the amazing musical experiences, singing in Paine Hall, Sanders Theater and beyond - you were our strong, inspiring and caring leader every step of the way.

Dear Meg,
Thank you for always inspiring us and making us feel prepared and accomplished every time we stepped on stage. RCS was a bright spot of my virtual first year at Harvard, and I am so appreciative that you and the rest of the choir put such effort into welcoming new members during that crazy time. Getting to learn from you in person the past two years has been even more incredible. I am sad to see you go, but I hope that you have a great time in your new position.
Meg, I have so many fond memories of RCS, and many of them were thanks to you. Thanks for making RCS a warm and welcoming place and for conducting us in our music along the way. You taught me not only a lot about singing, but also about being confident and inspiring others. Best of luck in your new chapter!
Meg, your joy for music and kind heart made RCS a home at Harvard for me for 4 years. You built community so well and I was so proud to be a part of RCS. You will be so missed by all at Harvard, but I am so excited for your next adventure!

Meg, thank you so much for your dedication, leadership, and commitment to the Harvard Choruses. RCS was an essential component of my Harvard experience and something that connected me to my passion for music and singing that started many years prior. So many great friendships and memories grew out of the hours of rehearsal; Bay Area and Pacific NW tours; choral retreats; and moments before, during, and after concerts, where you always instilled a sense of confidence. I am truly grateful for all that you did with and for us. Best of luck in your new chapter!!

Meg, it has been a wonderful journey singing with you in RCS during my 4 years of college. You have given us courage and confidence, and your effortless “my lady” thrown out during rehearsals still comes up in my mind sometimes. Best of luck with your new role, and have a wonderful start to a new chapter (a short walk away from the RCSers!)

Meg, Meg, Meg. I know you have gotten many thank you cards / texts from me over the last few years so I decided instead to document and share some of my favorite, random memories with you….I put them in the speaker notes (see next pages) though cause I couldn’t fit it into one slide. You know me, I have to be extra :)
Meg, you joining the staff of the Choruses is one of the best things that could've ever happened to this choral program and community. Meeting you was personally one of the best things that could've ever happened to me in this life and I will forever be grateful that we were brought together by music. I love you so much and I can't wait for many more years of laughter, delicious food, holidays with your family, dog shenanigans and TV / movie marathons with you.

Meg,
For the last six(!) years, I couldn’t imagine a more compassionate, thoughtful, diligent, and talented colleague to share this wonderful, exciting, challenging work. You were and still are an anchor for HarChor—for the students in all of the choirs, but also for all of us on the artistic staff—and the mark you leave on this program and each of us will remain for a long, long time to come. We’re only just now starting to learn all of the things that Meg just took care of without anyone knowing, and I’m sure that list will only keep growing! I’m so grateful for your incredible leadership, guidance, and friendship, and I’m thrilled for you as you continue on this exciting next step!
Meg, Thank you so much for shaping my, and so many other RCSers choral experience. The techniques you taught make me a better soprano, your enthusiasm for music and chorus is incredibly infective, and your kindness helped to make RCS a unique and wonderful community. I miss you, your warm-ups and phrases, and RCS so much. I hope you have a wonderful time in your future position!

Thank you very much, Meg, for these past 6 years in RCS. Thank you for your dedication, your hard work, your patience, your kindness and for always sending us encouraging smiles during concerts, when you knew well, we were all terrified of messing up ^^ You have been a true guiding force to all choruses. There will be a “before” and “after” Meg. Many years from now, RCSers like me will be proud to say that we were part of RCS “under Meg”, sharing stories about the TX and PR tours and zoom-rehearsals like a badge of honor from singers-soldiers still filled with admiration for their commander in chief. You have brought so much to RCS and all of us. I send you all my best wishes for this next journey ahead of you, which I know you will make yours and be fantastic at! With all my RCS <3 Alissa

Dear Meg - Congrats on your new position!! They are so incredibly lucky to have you, just like the Harvard Choruses (and RCS especially) have been for these past few years. You have been such an inspiration and role model to me and so many others, and words (or even music) cannot express the amount of love and respect we have for you. I still remember when we asked you what advice you had for starting a successful career, and you responded with “just say yes to opportunities that come your way”. I have been following that advice ever since. You made RCS what it is today, and it wouldn’t have been such an amazing, formative experience without you. From the bottom of my heart - Thank you. Best of luck with all your future endeavors, looking forward to when our paths cross again! RCS love forever.

Meg - thank you for the talent, compassion, dedication, and love you poured into RCS, HarChor, and every person who passed through the doors of Holden Chapel in search of a community. You were (and continue to be) such a role model in how to lead thoughtfully and empathetically while also getting sh*t done and creating fantastic art. I know that will be a mark you leave on the Harvard Choruses for years to come, and HKS is so lucky to be next in line for that Meg Weckworth touch. From rehearsals to tours to meetings in Buckminster’s, I’m so grateful you were on every step of my RCS experience, and I can’t imagine it any other way. Thank you for everything, and congratulations and best of luck for the new role and everything yet to come.

Dear Meg,
I have greatly missed you since graduation–your strength and poise, your talent, your beautiful voice and character. You have been an inspiration and a role model for me and for so many others. It has been so special and such an honour to have been a part of RCS with you and to have sang with you. There are so many wonderful memories, from that Halloween when we all dressed up in scarves and boots to look like you, to Antigone, to tearfully singing together one last time before leaving campus in March 2020. Those moments are so vivid in my mind when I remember my time at Harvard. Even when things were difficult for me, and I was unwell or sad, going to RCS rehearsals and seeing you and everyone there brought so much joy. For that, and for so many other reasons I cannot even begin to articulate, I will forever be grateful. I feel lucky to have had a leader like you, who was always so understanding and kind when I needed it: a ray of sunshine no matter the weather. Congratulations on your new position!
