These are newsletters, scholarships that come in from outside resources, free search sites, as well as any other scholarships that come to our attention. It is important to note that finding scholarship money is a tedious process. Students must be willing to look for the available resources.

Alpha Beta Education Recruitment Grant - Education

HIGH SCHOOL RECRUITMENT GRANT

The Alpha Beta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, a society for outstanding women educators, each year offers one recruitment grant to a FEMALE HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR who plans to enter the field of education. This three-hundred-dollar grant is to be used for study at an approved college or university. The recipient and her mother will be invited to attend our DKG meeting in May to receive this grant. The recipient will be contacted with information about this meeting.

Beta Sigma Psi Christian Leadership Award

This is a scholarship application for a $3,000 scholarship given out to a Christian male freshman attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Fall 2024. Please complete all required fields. Runner-ups may have the opportunity to be eligible for $1,000. There is no obligation to join Beta Sigma Psi to receive this award. The application consists of 5 parts: Personal Information, Current Education, Future Education, Community and Church Involvement, and Essay. The essay question at the end is, "What does being a Christian gentleman mean to you, and how do you strive to live up to these values?"

The Cameron Impact Scholarship

The Cameron Impact Scholarship (https://www.bryancameroneducationfoundation.org/scholarship) is a four-year, full-tuition, impact-driven undergraduate scholarship awarded annually to 10-15 exceptional high school students who have demonstrated excellence in leadership, community service, extracurricular activities, and academics. The Cameron Impact Scholar is unique among their peers in their desire to directly impact their communities and in the world at large. Our Scholar aspires to contribute to positive forces for change and plans to tailor their education to that end. The Cameron Impact Scholarship covers the full tuition, fees, and books at any accredited U.S. based college or university that the recipient chooses to attend.

CBAI Foundation for Community Banking Scholarship

Designed to a) foster a better understanding of the vital role that community banks play in the economy of the areas in which they do business, b) provide members with an avenue by which they can give something to the young scholars in their communities, and c) provide welcome financial aid to deserving high-school seniors in the members’ communities.

$1,000 per year for up to 4 years with the possibility of another 11 $1,000 and 12 $500 awards depending on the quality of the submissions.

Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation

Each year, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation awards 150 college scholarships worth $20,000 to high school students across the United States through the Coca-Cola Scholars Program. Students need a 3.0 GPA and to fill out an online application that requires no essays, no recommendations, and no transcripts.

Daughters of the American Revolution National Scholarships

Each scholarship opportunity has its own individual criteria and may require specific documents to be uploaded into your application. The scholarships opportunities range from nursing, medicine, occupational or physical therapy, law, business administration, English, math, chemistry, music (voice or piano only), American history, history, government, American Studies, historic preservation, horticulture, and elementary and secondary education. Two scholarships are specifically for Native American students (you must provide proof of membership in a federal or state-recognized tribe) and over twenty of the scholarships opportunities are for graduating high school students, college undergraduate students, or graduate students. Two scholarship are specifically for DAR members or DAR-descendants/dependents (you must be able to provide the DAR member’s name, national membership number, and your relationship to the DAR member).

Daughters of the American Revolution Scholarships

The Illinois State Organization awards up to eight $1000 scholarships each year; seven of which are "generalscholarships (for students studying in Illinois institutions), and one, known as the General Henry Dearborn American History Scholarship, for a student committed to an American History major. Winning applicants receive the funds after submitting proof they have achieved no less than a Caverage in the college semester following the announcement of their award. The scholarship funds are sent directly to the school following receipt of a certified transcript from the college or university, which must be sent to the Scholarship Chairman.

Department of Children and Family Services Scholarship

Each year the Department shall select a minimum of 53 students, at least 4 of whom shall be children of veterans, to receive scholarships and fee waivers which will enable them to attend and complete their post-secondary education at a community college, university, or college.

1 Scholarships and fee waivers shall be available to students for at least 5 years, provided they are continuing to work toward graduation.

Dorothy Olson Piano/ Entertainment Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to award $1,000 to a rising senior or senior in high school, classically trained, who can also play other genres of music and wants to entertain, teach, perform, and volunteer. The applicant has a passion for music and aims to share it.

Scholarship Awarded by the Chicago Federation of Musicians

The live competition will take place.

The applicant should be prepared to play a short classical piece as well as a piece of music from a different genre, which can be a ballad, a show tune, ragtime, or any short selection that demonstrates piano technique and artistry. Performing by memory is required for the pre-competition as well as for the live audition. The applicant will be judged on rapport with the audience as well as on their performance.

To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must:

  1. Submit a video recording of one classical piece (baroque, classical, romantic or contemporary period)
  2. Complete the application

Eleanor Bussell Memorial Scholarship

A Scholarship established by the late Eleanor Bussell is available to a High School Senior who is a resident of Marshall County and will be pursuing a degree in History or Education. This Scholarship will be in the amount of $1,000.00. Applications will be available at local high schools and at the First National Bank of Lacon.

Hagan Scholarship - Rural Students

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide four-year need-based merit scholarship providing each recipient with the opportunity to graduate college debt-free, providing up to $6,000 each semester. After graduation from college Hagan Scholars can apply for a two-year extension of their scholarship to attend graduate school or a professional school, receiving $6,000 each semester.

Hank O. Payne Scholarship Foundation - Trade School

Trade school scholarships are awarded to Mclean, Woodford and Livingston County Area residents to be applied towards tuition assistance into a vocational school. Applications are to be submitted to the scholarship committee in July of the year prior to the academic year for which you are requesting support. All information submitted will be held in confidence and used solely for the purpose of scholarship administration.

Holiday Classic Tournament Scholarship Program

The program was established to recognize and award $1,500 scholarships each to four eligible high school seniors (one winner per bracket) who participated in this past year’s tournament. A selection committee of current and former educators will choose the winners based on leadership skills and academic performance.

Applicants will be asked to demonstrate their experiences in student activities and community service, and are required to submit an essay titled “How my high school sports experience helped prepare me for success in higher education.”

IHSA Foundation Scholarship

The IHSA Foundation offers scholarships to seniors who plan to: A) Major in education in college (or) B) Intend to get involved in the coaching profession after high school (or) C) Are currently licensed and actively working as an IHSA official.

Interested applicants can submit their application via a three minute or less video. Two recipients from each of the seven IHSA geographic divisions will be selected to win scholarships. Be sure to address the four criteria below in the video submission, with the most emphasis being placed on #3 & #4. Be creative in telling us your high school story, and how its impact led you to pursue teaching, coaching, or officiating. A total of fourteen students will be selected and awarded $1,000 each.

Illinois Agricultural Education Scholarship

The IAA Foundation endeavors to enhance the future of agriculture by providing college scholarships to Illinois Farm Families, Illinois Farm Bureau members, spouses, or their children who major in agriculture, agribusiness, or an ag-related course of study. The IAA Foundation is pleased to administer scholarships on behalf of agricultural partners and families who wish to support future generations and help assure a well-qualified and professional agricultural workforce in Illinois while supporting farming communities.

Illinois Agri-Women Scholarship Opportunities

The Illinois Agri-Women (IAW) organization is offering 4 scholarships for females studying agriculture. The Illinois Agri-Women (IAW) organization supports the agriculture industry, works for legislation to support and preserve family farms, communicates with other agriculture organizations, and strives to educate the public and promote agricultural awareness.

Three $1,000 WCFA Agent of Change Scholarships are offered to students who have attended at least one Women Changing the Face of Agriculture Conference. Eligible applicants include past WCFA attendees and students who participated in the 2021 WCFA Online Curriculum. One scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior, one will be awarded to a current college student, and one scholarship will be awarded to a current graduate student. Illinois Association of Gifted Children Scholarships

The Illinois Association for Gifted Children (IAGC) provides a variety of scholarship and recognition opportunities for parents, educators, students, and community members. Earn scholarship funds to develop your own talents, recognize someone who is making a difference in the lives of gifted young people, or support the professional development of someone you admire with an IAGC scholarship or award. All award winners will be recognized at the annual IAGC Conference.

Illinois Chemical Education Foundation Scholarships

Every spring the Foundation presents scholarships to Illinois high school and undergraduate science students. The $2,000 scholarships are presented to students who demonstrate academic excellence in the pursuit of a science-related career.

ICEF also annually awards a $3,000 Davidson Award to the top high school chemistry teacher in Illinois. Selection of the Davidson recipient is based on a written application, peer recommendations, student interviews, and an in-class visit by representatives from the selection committee.

ILLINOIS PORK PRODUCERS SCHOLARSHIPS

IPPA Scholarships

The Illinois Pork Producers Association proudly awards nine students with a scholarship each school year. Three Levels are awarded: (3) Gold Scholarships at $2,000 each; (3) Silver Scholarships at $1,500 each; (3) Bronze Scholarships at $1,000 each. Applicants must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or be enrolling to begin in the Fall of 2024 to be eligible. IPPA Scholarships are open to students pursuing any undergraduate degree at any two-year or four-year college.

Illinois Professional Land Surveyors Scholarships

IPLSA offers scholarships and awards for students, surveyors and other individuals in the surveying profession. Click the link to see a full listing of scholarships. Scholarship submissions are evaluated by a committee of Professional Land Surveyors. Scholarships are presented at the IPLSA Annual Conference, held in February of each year.

Illinois Sheriff’s Association Scholarship

In 1979, the ISA established a scholarship program for college-bound students. Scholarships ranging from $500 to $1000 are awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding scholastic, extra-curricular and character qualifications.

Each Illinois county that participates in the ISA membership program awards at least one $500 scholarship each school year. The scholarship program is open to Illinois students attending an Illinois higher learning institution.

Illinois Valley Community College Foundation Helen Taylor Memorial Scholarship 2023-24 year

The Helen Taylor Memorial Scholarship is an award reserved for high school graduates.

Student Eligibility:

▪ graduate of an IVCC district high school;

▪ Student’s cumulative GPA is within the top 2% of their graduating class; or

▪ Student whose school identifies them as summa cum laude, valedictorian, ranked no. 1 or

salutatorian, ranked no. 2.

JRF Scholars receive grants of up to $30,000 over four years to supplement the financial aid they receive from their colleges or universities. In addition, Scholars receive extensive support services, including career guidance and internship placement, and attend JRF’s annual four-day "Mentoring and Leadership Conference" in New York City and other regional events throughout the year.

Kathryn Hansen Scholarship for Business, Secretarial, or Office Professional Interests

Each year the University of Illinois, Illinois Administrative Professionals offers the Kathryn G. Hansen Scholarship competition to students planning to pursue higher education in the office professional, secretarial, or business-related fields. The Illinois Administrative Professionals is an organization composed of employees in civil service classifications with qualifications that meet or exceed those of Office Support Associate. Ms. Hansen was one of the founding members of the State Universities Civil Service System and Illinois Administrative Professionals. In her honor, Illinois Administrative Professionals has created the Kathryn G. Hansen Scholarship Fund. Preference is given to those attending the University of Illinois.

Peacekeepers Scholarship

Each year the Illinois Sheriffs’ Association offers special scholarships to dependents of our military and law enforcement community. We believe these scholarships demonstrate honor to the families of those who serve our country and communities.

Those eligible to apply for the Peacekeeper Scholarship include dependents of Law Enforcement Officers who are either active duty, retired or those killed in line of duty death. Also eligible are dependents of active duty Military, Military Reserve, National Guard or of those killed in action.

QuestBridge - National College Match

National College Match for High School Seniors

The National College Match application opens in late summer each year, and it closes in late September. This is a college admission and scholarship process through which high-achieving, low-income students can be "matched" — admitted early with full four-year scholarships to QuestBridge college partners. The Match Scholarship is offered as part of a generous financial aid package provided by the college, and it is worth over $200,000. Finalists who do not match can apply for free to any of our college partners through QuestBridge Regular Decision. Learn more about the process and timeline for high school seniors.

Steve Maxheimer Memorial Scholarship

The Steve Maxheimer Memorial Scholarship Foundation, Inc., has been established in loving memory of Steve Maxheimer. Steve Maxheimer was a resident of Washington, Illinois, who owned and operated a successful concrete construction business and Pine Lakes Golf Course. Steve Maxheimer was a successful businessman, strong community supporter, and an avid competitive golfer. The Board of Directors of the Steve Maxheimer Memorial Scholarship Foundation, Inc., seeks to honor the accomplishments of graduating seniors of Washington Community High School, and the graduating seniors of Tri-County Area high schools (Peoria, Tazewell, or Woodford Counties) who in some fashion are affiliated with the game of golf. This year Marquis is offering the Marquis "What Fuels You" Scholarship, awarding a total of $10,000 in scholarships with up to two $2,500 scholarships for all students that live within a 90 mile radius of Hennepin and will be enrolled in college, graduate school, or a technical institute for the Fall 2023 semester.

The scholarship requires applicants to complete three essay questions (500-750 words) and provide one teacher recommendation.

Woodford County Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarship

The scholarship will be given to an incoming freshman or current college/university student enrolled full-time in an agriculture related field of study. This does not include a student receiving dual-credit courses. The purpose of this scholarship is to enhance interest in and development of quality education of young people in agricultural and related fields.
