A Bit About the class

Welcome to Mr. Garcia’s math class. Let me begin by saying that this class will be challenging, but the expectation is that all students will enhance their work ethic and positive attitude to attain success in their future academic career and in life.

A Bit About Me/Us

I am a product of Pico Rivera. I graduated from El Rancho High School in 2004. I graduated from Cal State Dominguez Hills with my bachelors degree and teaching credentials. I graduated from GCU with my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I love what I do. I tell students I am living the dream. I teach 8th grade math, Integrated 1, Video Production, and ASB, I am a part of the PBIS and AVID team here at RMS.

Classroom Norms

Students are expected to work hard and pay attention during class. Students are expected to have their chromebooks daily and they are expected to have their chromebooks fully charged. Students should also be bringing in their graph composition books daily.

Submitting & Make-up Work

Students who are absent must check with peers, or with Mr. Garcia to get information on what was missed in class. It is the student’s responsibility to make up missed work. If the student knows beforehand of their absence, they may ask to get the assignment so they can complete it and turn it in when they come back. Work can be turned into marked baskets in my classroom or they can take a picture of their work and submit it through google classroom

Tests/Projects: 35%

Quizzes/Activities: 30%

Classwork: 20%

Homework: 15%
