Jan’s Work Day

Jan lives in the big city. She works

downtown in an office. She is a

bookkeeper. She works from Monday to Friday.

At 8:00, she walks to work on the busy street. She waits at the stoplight before crossing. She sees her favorite bakery. She walks past the stop sign. The bakery is open. She is hungry.

At 8:30, she eats breakfast

and drinks coffee at the bakery.

She gets toast with jam and a

black coffee with sugar.

At 9:00, she begins her work day. She works on the computer and makes phone calls. At 3:00, she stops working for the day. She works from 9:00 to 3:00. She works for six hours.

Then she walks home. She does

not stop on the way home. She gets

home at 4:00 pm. She is tired from

walking. She rests.

In the evening, she eats dinner. She teaches English class Monday to Thursday evening. She visits with friends on Friday evening. At 9 pm she watches TV. She goes to bed at 10 pm.
