The big picture…

The National Network of Partnership Schools (NNPS) offers a massive network of educational resources to guide the improvement of community partnership programs. With this toolkit, PYC is set to become a master builder in no time at all!

Better together.

BSD and WSD do a lot of great work; why not do more of it together? Coordinated communications and efforts between the districts leverages open innovation to open new doors of possibility.

EPIC!

Extracurricular Programs & Initiatives for Children gives PYC a chance to convene diverse student groups in social spaces of unified purpose, encouraging valuable new peer relationships and taking learning far beyond classroom walls.

Listen up!

The voices of stakeholders are paramount in this work. Listening campaigns & sessions would allow stakeholders to voice thoughts and concerns in a space where PYC can correspondingly share what they are doing.

PLP+

PLPs give students the power to build their own learning experiences within a course —but why not let them build unique course portfolios too?

Space exploration?

All students learn differently— and they study differently too. To honor this need, PYC might design innovative study & social spaces for district schools.

To make its presence more visible and accessible, PYC might design a space for itself too in each district.

Some recommendations for the future

Become a member of that National Network of Partnership Schools -- offers huge network of educational resources that can help improve community partnerships

Bring Burlington and Winooski districts together -- coordinate communications and efforts between the two. Could lead to open innovation and open many doors for students

Extracurricular programs and Initiatives for Children or EPIC would give students a chance to form diverse groups in social spaces. These programs would encourage new peer relationships and take learning outside the classroom

Listening campaigns and sessions would give stakeholders the opportunity to voice thoughts and concerns. PYC would also be able to correspondingly share what they are doing

Going beyond personalized learning and aiding in creating unique course portfolios.

Because not all students learn differently, they also study differently. PYC might come up with a plan to create unique study/social spaces in the high schools. Additionally, to make its presence more known PYC might design a space of its own in each of the districts.
