CA Assembly Bill 1276
The State of California recognizes that littered plastic products cause costly environmental harm & harm to human health. In response to this problem, State legislature passed AB 1884 in 2018, requiring full-service restaurants to provide single-use straws to consumers only upon request.�
In 2021, Governor Gavin Newsom expanded upon this law by signing AB 1276, requiring food facilities to provide single-use foodware accessories and single-use condiments only when requested. Items such as, but not limited to, the following, would be covered in AB 1276:
