September 3, 2024

PTA Mission

To support the children of Woodlin Elementary School by:

  • Developing enrichment programs to enhance our kids’ academic experience;
  • Hosting community-building events for all of us to enjoy;
  • Advocating on behalf of the school’s needs at the local, county, and state levels; and,
  • Fundraising to support the school, and our teachers and school staff.

PTA Goals for the 2024-2025 School Year

The PTA's goals for this year are to expand access and inclusiveness. Now that we are in our beautiful new building, we will be able to begin after-school clubs in January. The PTA plans on providing scholarships to every Woodlin student who wishes to participate so that cost will not stand in their way. The Woodlin community has had many obstacles to overcome in the last few years, between the pandemic and the move to Grosvenor, but we now have a chance to start again and building stronger ties between our school and the community is a priority!

Sign up to be a Room Parent!

The PTA is looking for classroom parents in a few more classes for the 2024 - 2025 school year. Being a room parent is a great way to support our teachers and have some fun!

  • Host classroom parties. You’ll coordinate with teachers to host the class’s Harvest and Valentine’s Day parties. Classroom parents provide treats, provide an activity, and often send home a small goody bag. The PTA reimburses classroom parents.
  • Create classroom auction items for the PTA spring auction. You’ll support the annual PTA Online Auction by organizing your class to create a fun gift basket to be included in the auction catalog.
  • Facilitate the classroom WhatsApp group. You’ll be made the “admin” of your class WhatsApp group so you’ll be able to add people to the group, share information, and (hopefully not necessary!) remove posts if need be.
  • Plan joint thank you gifts for teachers. Often, room parents will coordinate class gifts for the teacher in December and/or at the end of the school year.
  • All of this adds up to about 10 hours of work for the entire school year!

Please email Beth Jordan (bethjordansiirila@gmail.com) for more information and to sign up.
