The Impact:
In addition to people living in poverty, the issue impacts service providers in areas from health, education, housing, transportation and social services.

The Need:

The Results:
NCPR’s poverty reporting will impact the communities and people we serve.

Through the texting-based platform, GroundSource, NCPR was able to engagethe community in a conversation about how people use ingenuity and creativity to survive despite their economic obstacles.
The series received broad regional recognition, including from the Adirondack Foundation and the North Country Healthy Heart Network.
It won a regional Edward R. Murrow award and best series award from the Public Media Journalists Association (formerly PRNDI).
