GOAL 1: Research

Choice A:

“FS: Delaware Research Tips …”

- In Delaware Research Tips briefly review each of the paragraphs with bold items, to emphasize the key records to focus on.

- In Delaware Record Finder explain each of the column headings and then scroll down through several of the categories, pausing on each row to identify the record types. Select one or two of the links that are listed, to show their pages, and then close the pages that were opened.

- In Further Delaware Research click the “Delaware Record Finder” link at the end of the first bullet point. The expanded Record Finder includes more categories, and it mentions more resources, such as newspapers, societies, and probate records.

“FS: Step-by-Step Delaware Research …”

- In Step 1 … scroll down to “What documents should be collected or copied?” and briefly review the types of documents listed, emphasizing the more unusual ones to consider.

- In Step 2 … scroll through the census research examples and recommend these for further study after the class.

- In Step 3 … scroll through the birth, marriage, and death research examples and recommend these for further study after the class.

Explain the legend for the county links (Name = FamilySearch, etc.) Select a county, such as Kent, and briefly show each of the links for that county.
