Importing electronic health record data (EHR) directly into REDCap

REDCap Clinical Data Interoperability Service (CDIS) pulls EHR data directly from IU Health and Eskenazi EHR databases.

  • eliminates manual data entry and reduces quality data issues (such as transcription errors)
  • reduces the cost of data extraction with minimal Health IT involvement

IUH-Cerner EHR integration

  • completed pilot testing of two use cases
  • User Access Governance Document approved by IU Legal
  • CDIS service available to researchers

Eskenazi-Epic EHR integration

  • pilot testing of use case in progress
