USING THE PRINCIPALSHIP STUDENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (SMS)�

  • After logging onto MyUNIverse with your user name and CatID, go to far left column and down to Performance Assessment System.
  • Click on Ed Leadership Principalship System.

Click on View My Progress

To upload any item in Decision Point 2 that has been approved by field supervisor or instructor, click on the item. You will then see the upload page.

  • Click on Browse to choose a document in your computer to upload to the system.
  • Click the Upload button and you will see your document uploaded on the page along with the date of upload. Done!
  • Click on View My Progress (on navigation bar) to view progress on all Decision Points.

Refer to Legend box at left for descriptors of the icons (N, P, X, etc.) used for all Decision Points.

To submit and view experience records, click on View/Record My Experience on navigation bar.

Click File New Form to record a new internship experience.

Use arrow for drop-down menu to select Field-Based Internship Reflection Form.

Click Next to open.

  • Enter a brief title of experience.
  • Use drop-down to pick appropriate standard/criteria. Click “Add a new line” for each additional criterion. Use drop-down to designate level(s) involved.
  • Important: Consider TOTAL time of experience and divide among the criteria.

  • Fill out sections for both boxes – description and leadership reflection – by typing in boxes.
  • Be sure to fill in mentor name at bottom and click Add.
  • Click on “Save for later” to finish work later OR “Next” if ready to continue.

  • After checking “Next” on previous page, you will see your completed form.
  • At the bottom - check the verification box, type the approval date, and select Submit.
  • NOTE: Form will not be accepted without above verification.

If verification and consent are not complete and you click Submit, this is the warning message. After completing, click Submit.

Successful submission!

  • Repeat steps to submit another request.
  • After request has been either approved or rejected, go to View My Forms to check status.
  • If rejected, refer to feedback on what needs to be edited and re-submit.

  • To record new Program Required experience, click on File New Form.
  • Use drop-down to select Program Required Internship Reflection Form.
  • Click Next.
  • Follow directions for drop-downs as indicated and same steps as for Field-Based.

  • To view submitted forms, click on View My Forms.
  • Use drop-down menu for Approved, Waiting for Approval, Rejected, and Saved for Later.
  • For Rejected request: click Search, then View to edit your form. Refer to feedback for editing. Once edited, re-submit form by following same steps previously listed.

  • To view a Summary of all your approved field-based or program-required experiences, click on My Exp. Summary.
  • Use drop-down to select either the Field-Based or Program-Required summary.
  • Click Get Summary.

MAKING CHANGES �TO PREVIOUSLY SUBMITTED & APPROVED FORMS

  • Email Program Assistant (loleta.montgomery@uni.edu) to advise of your intent and submit the reflection numbers.

  • Program Assistant will open the reflection form(s) for your editing and it will be automatically placed in “Save for Later” drop-down menu.

  • Re-submit form after editing.�
  • IMPORTANT: To prevent creating a system backlog for others, do not submit large quantities (over 5) on the same day.

  • IMPORTANT: Experiences that extend throughout the year (i.e., District Leadership Committee, etc.) can be submitted monthly or quarterly to make the writing more manageable.
