WPSD Secures $3.5 Million in Grants for Facility Improvements

The William Penn School District has been awarded $3,494,625 in funding through the Public School Facility Improvement Grant Program, provided by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA). ��These grants reflect the significance of our district’s efforts to enhance accessibility, safety, and energy efficiency across our schools.

Bell Avenue Elementary School – ADA Accessibility Project

Award: $494,625�

District-Wide – HVAC Control Replacement Project

Award: $500,000

�East Lansdowne Elementary School – Emergency Roof Replacement Project

Award: $500,000

�Penn Wood Middle School – Main Roof Replacement Project

Award: $2,000,000

The Kings & Queens of Step from Evans ES were invited by Representative Gina Curry to perform at McCall Golf Club on October 10, 2024.

Red Ribbon Week: October 21 - 25, 2024

  • Annual campaign to promote drug-free living, encouraging youth to make healthy choices, and raising awareness about the dangers of drug and substance abuse.
  • Several of our schools held theme days, parades, and other activities to celebrate!

Penn Wood High School College Fair

Over sixty colleges, universities, and trade schools visited with our students on October 24, 2024.

Thanks to Mr. Garbe and the Penn Wood HS counseling department and team for organizing this wonderful event!

Many of our students received on-the-spot acceptances by several colleges. Congrats!

Student Visit to Lincoln University

I met with Penn Wood HS students as they were heading out for a visit to Lincoln University, my alma mater on October 25th.��They participated in a Black Youth Suicide Prevention Program and also received a campus tour.
