READING: This week we move into Section 4 of the Hurricane Unit. In this section students learn to explain the challenges that Barry and his family face during the storm and examine how their lives change as a result of the storm. Students will take Chapter 1-7 Test on 9/2 (Students have a study guide in their ELA folder to review.) Bellringer #3 due 9/4

WRITING: We are learning about compound sentences and coordinating conjunctions.. Grammar Quiz on these skills on 9/9. *Check Grammar notebook & Google Classroom for resources!

HOMEWORK: Read 20 mins nightly to work towards AR goal.

Weekly overview: This week, students will continue learning about Hurricane Katrina through I Survived Hurricane Katrina, 2005.. We will read chapters 5–7 and focus on how Barry and his family prepare for and respond to the storm. Students will take Chapter 1-7 Test on 9/4 (Students have a study guide in their ELA folder to review - given out Friday 8/28 & in Google Classroom) �Homework/Bellringers: : Read 20 mins nightly to work towards AR goal. Complete unfinished bell ringers (Week 3 - We will check these daily) Due Friday - 9/4)

We will begin chapter 2 of Unit 1: Energy Conversions. If you look at the class story on class dojo or on clever announcements there is a link to all the study resources.

Students have been walked through the Science Hub document and know that everything on it is extra-the links and resources on it are NOT homework.Study guides do not mirror the tests and quizzes. Students need to apply the key concepts to the quiz. Quiz moved to Friday September 4th

Energy Quiz on Flocabulary will be added into the gradebook. Students can work on it in class or at home! Due 9/9/26 for this students are allowed ONE retake upon request

This week, students will take their Unit 1, Chapter 2 Test on the Agricultural Revolution on Tuesday, September 1st.

Students can prepare by reviewing their study guide in their red folder. The answer key will be posted on ClassDojo so students can check their work.

A Blooket review game will also be posted on Google Classroom and ClassDojo. Class Code: aqszjtjn

This Week: We are finishing up Lesson 4 Adding Whole Numbers

Test Major Grade: Wednesday 9/2- Comparing and Rounding multi digit whole numbers

Test Minor Grade: Friday 9/7 -Facts and Fluency

Homework- Multiplication Facts and Fluency Sheets.

i-Ready: I-ready is taken for a grade. The number of lessons are based on their diagnostic test.
