“ਮੀਨੂੰ, ਜਾਓ ਮਾਮਾ ਜੀ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਗਲਾਸ ਪਾਣੀ ਲੈ ਆਓ,” ਮੰਮੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ।
ਮਾਮਾ ਜੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਊਟੀ ਲੈਕੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ !
“ਅਸੀਂ ਰੇਲ ਗੱਡੀ ਤੇ ਜਾਵਾਂਗੇ ਮੀਨੂੰ, ਓਥੇ ਗਰਮੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੀ ਠੰਢ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਕ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਹੈ ” ਮਾਮਾ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ।

ਗਰਮੀ ਦੀ ਰੁੱਤ ਬਸੰਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਤਝੜ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਸਕੂਲ ਤੋਂ ਗਰਮੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਛੁੱਟੀਆਂ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਸਹੇਲੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਖੇਡਣ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ ਨਹੀਂ, ਪਰ ਸਾਡੇ ਮਾਪੇ ਸਾਡਾ ਏਨੀ ਧੁੱਪ ਵਿਚ ਖੇਡਣਾ ਪਸੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ।
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅਸੀਂ ਰੁੱਖਾਂ ਹੇਠ ਬੈਠਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਫਲ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਤਾਂ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ।

ਕੱਲ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਹੇਲੀ ਮੀਰਾ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੇ ਓਹਨਾ ਦਾ ਨਵਾਂ ਸਾਲ ਮਨਾਇਆ ।
ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਇਕ ਸਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਕੀਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਸਾਲ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਅਲੱਗ ਅਲੱਗ ਸਭਿਤਾਵਾਂ ਲਈ ਨਵੇਂ ਸਾਲ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਅਲੱਗ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮੀਰਾ ਦੀ ਦਾਦੀ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਕੱਚੇ ਅੰਬ ਦਾ ਪੰਨਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਸੀ।
ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੱਟ - ਮਿਠਾ ਸੀ ! ਅਸੀਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਕੁਲਫੀਆਂ ਵੀ ਖਾਧੀਆਂ।
ਮੇਰੇ ਦਾਦੀ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਲੱਸੀ ਬਣਾਈ।
ਬਹੁਤ ਵਧੀਆ ਅਤੇ ਮਲਾਈਦਾਰ!
ਪਿਛਲੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ, ਫਰਹਾਨ ਦੀ ਭੂਆ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਸਾਲ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਫਲੂਦਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਸੀ।
ਪੂਰਾ ਕੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਬੜੀ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਖੁਸ਼ਬੂ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਸੀ।

ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਜੀ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਗਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ।
ਉਹ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਓਥੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਗਰਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਧੂੜ ਹੈ।
ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧੁੱਪ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਐਨਕਾਂ ਲਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੀ ਗਰਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਪਸੀਨਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਹ ਨਿਬੂ ਪਾਣੀ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਉਹ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਦੁਸਹਿਰੀ ਅੰਬ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਉਣਗੇ।
ਗਰਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਸੇਕ ਅਤੇ ਧੂੜ ਤਾਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਅੰਬ ਵੀ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ !

ਕੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਛੋਟਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਬੂਟਾ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਬਸੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਾਇਆ ਸੀ?
ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਦੋਸਤ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਉਹਦੇ ਹੁਣ ਸਤਾਰਾਂ ਪੱਤੇ ਹਨ ।
ਮੈਂ ਗਰਮੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਦੋ ਵਾਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹਾਂ।

ਮੇਰੇ ਖਿਆਲ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਬੂਟਾ ਮੀਂਹ ਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਮੀਦ ਹੈ ਅਗਲੀਆਂ ਗਰਮੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਫੱਲ ਲੱਗਣਗੇ।
