Formula for Impact is a roadmap for Clubs to help ensure that members achieve our priority outcomes of Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles.
Formula for Impact
Character & Leadership Development
Torch Clubs are chartered, small-group leadership and service clubs for boys and girls ages 11-13 that helps meet the special character development needs of younger adolescents at a critical stage in their life.
Keystone is the Boys & Girls Club Movement’s ultimate teen program for young people ages 14-18. Youth participate, both in and out of the Club, in activities that focus on academic success, career preparation and community service.
Since 1947, Youth of the Year has been Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s premier recognition program, celebrating the extraordinary achievements of Club members. Each year, one exceptional Club member is selected to be the National Youth of the Year. The National Youth of the Year serves as both an exemplary ambassador for Boys & Girls Club youth and as a strong voice for all of our nation’s young people.

BGCA’s new college readiness program
Reinforces the academic enrichment and school engagement of young people during the time they spend at the Club.
Health & Life Skills
SMART (Skills Mastery and Resistance Training) Moves is a prevention program designed to teach children and teens how to avoid and resist engaging in risky behaviors.
SMART Girls is an outgrowth of the popular and effective SMART Moves program. SMART Girls is a health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program for girls ages 8-17.
Passport to Manhood promotes and teaches responsibility in Club boys ages 11-14. Passport to Manhood consists of 14 sessions, each concentrating on a specific aspect of character and manhood through highly interactive activities.

All Clubs run a Kids Café program, in partnership with the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia the school system’s meal program.
Sports, Fitness & Recreation
BGCA’s comprehensive health and wellness initiative, strives to improve the overall health of members, ages 6-18, by increasing their daily physical activity, teaching them good nutrition and helping them develop healthy relationships.
ALL STARS is year-round team Football, Basketball, Dance, Cheer, Step programs and much more…

The Arts
The National Fine Arts Exhibit Program is a year-round program that encourages artistic expression among Club members ages 6-18 through drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, mixed media and sculpture displayed at local and regional exhibits.
A year-round program that encourages Club members ages 6-18 to learn and practice black-and-white, color, digital and alternative process photography.

With the help of Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Virginia, 2,000 young people a year, just like India, are on the path to success. The Clubs mentors, programs, and support give encouragement and structure for our youth to give them the tools they need to succeed.
