Articulation and Phonology | It's a new week! Next Monday there is no school. Using your target sounds, explain to someone in your house about the upcoming holiday. | Using words with your sound, name 3 video games, 4 snacks, and 2 of your friends. Now make up a story using your ideas. | Check out the link below in the language section. Grab a friend or someone in your house and read the questions using your best speech. Be sure to focus on the words that have your speech sound in them. | Were we in school, today would have been our school carnival. Think of the kinds of things you can do and see at a carnival: the food, the games, the prizes, the rides (no - we don't have rides at ours; but you can pie a teacher!). What words have your sound? Fluency/Voice | Find 5 items in your room. Set them out together. Use your best fluency skills and make up a story that includes those 5 items. Practice your story and then tell your story to a family member or friend. | Choose a task to explain to someone: how to play a video game, how to make something (maybe a mask), how to get from your house to the grocery store. Pragmatics | Being home all this time may mean you have to interact more with your neighbors. We can have neighbors we like & don't like. How would you handle a neighbor who is: playing loud music all night. ignoring their dog that won't stop barking. not taking care of their yard. | Your family is following the rules for "shelter in place". Your family does not want you to leave the house or have friends over. Your best friend calls and asks you to meet him/her at the park. You say "no" but he tries to convince you that you could sneak out and no one would know. What do you say to your friend? As a fun game try to guess what they will answer before they answer! | Sometimes in large groups we have to deal with rules and people that are a part of the group.
