Concluding recommendations

  • Pumpkin tank is a very cost effective durable tank that can be built with locally available materials by both men and women masons.
  • In Sri Lanka the size of the tank has been increased up to 10 cubic meters capacity.
  • Maximum size of this type of tank is yet to be tries out.
  • Building bigger pumpkin tanks up to the optimum size cost per cubic meter will continue to come down.
