UNDERSTANDING WHY, WHO, WHEN AND HOW
WHY EQUIVALENCY STUDIES IN ARGENTINA AND AT LINCOLN?
Education in Argentina is mandatory, and a right, for every child who lives in the country, despite nationality, culture, mother tongue, religion and the reason why he/she lives in the country and for how long.
AEL is a school in Argentina. All schools, public or private, must follow the Province’s Law of Education and local Resolutions in order to have the right to offer official educational services.
What are the equivalency studies?
They are make-up, mandatory, requirements for students transferring to Lincoln beginning in grade 8 onwards, if they are coming from countries which don't have an educational agreement with Argentina (such as the U.S.). There is content from 5 courses students have to cover
1. Geography
2.Citizenship
3.Argentine History
4.Culture
5.Language
Do these studies affect the U.S. diploma?
No. If a student does not successfully complete the studies before graduation time, he/she will receive the U.S. diploma, but not the Bachillerato.
Where are these studies done?
The studies will be administered by our MS/HS Spanish Department and National Program office. Students will receive information from their teachers regarding contents in their Spanish class that will be considered for their equivalencia , and will be able to ask questions or get help from the Spanish teachers during Office Hours.
How long do the studies take?
The objective is to complete the studies during the student’s first year after being admitted to Lincoln.
What If a student does not successfully complete the equivalency studies?
The student will not receive the Bachillerato Diploma unless and until he or she successfully completes the Equivalencias studies.
A student may receive the U.S. High School diploma and still have the equivalency studies pending.
