The Power of Music

“Music does bring people together. It allows us to experience the same emotions. People everywhere are the same in heart and spirit. No matter what language we speak, what color we are, the form or our politics or the expression of our love and faith, music proves: We are the same.”

Music Competitions

A’cappella Unplugged

  • For the last two years I had the honor of being a semi-finalist in Franklin County’s A’ Cappela Unplugged.
  • Each year they hold initial rounds at local restaurants and bars.
  • The semi-finalists for each round get to perform on stage to create a special event.
    • Here is one of the songs that I sang at the competition,

I Won’t Back Down by: Tom Petty.

Music Festivals

LOCO fest

  • LOCO Fest, is a yearly music festival held in Loudoun County VA. It features a large selection of musicians.
  • Each year they pick 3 kids to be part of their rising stars, which I was a part of in 2021.
  • The money raised goes back to getting gear for local musicians in the community.

Gettysburg Rocks

Later this month I will be performing in Gettysburg as part of this event that benefits Penn State’s THON fundraiser for children's cancer research.

Chords of courage

  • Chords of Courage is a songwriting competition targeted at middle and high school students in Frederick County.
  • It provides workshops and resources to help kids learn and get into songwriting.
  • The songs also are written about positive influential figures, and encourage people to help in service projects in the community.
  • This past year I won 2nd Prize in the middle school category for my song “ Turn Another Cheek”.
