Preservation of Plant Genetic ResourcesNatural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) coordinates the Finnish Plant Genetic Resources Program. The first program was established in 2003 and it was last updated in 2018. The coordinator for the program is Elina Kiviharju and responsible for security collections is Maarit Heinonen.

Luke is the main storage place for Finnish plant genetic resources that can be stored vegetatively, but in addition to this, there are several backup collections. A symbolic support is paid for the backup collections, and the administrators of the collections report annually on the condition of the collection.
