Ministry Updates

  • Trusting God for His strength, wisdom & time management as she manage 2 roles: National Prayer Champion as well as New Staff Training (NST) Team Lead.
  • Pray for God to raise up laborers to join Cru Singapore this year. Pray that young people will grow in resilience and perseverance in serving God full-time, longer-term.
  • Pray for God’s creativity & clarity as Winnie coordinates as East Asia All-Staff-Festival Program Co-Team Lead.
  • Thank God for a good 4-session Onboarding session for their 11 new staff/interns. Pray for Winnie and her team as they coordinate: New Staff Core Training - launching on 17 August for 6 interns & 2 new staff.
  • Pray for her preparation for upcoming Worldwide Day of Prayer on 6 Oct - for her national staff team.

  • Thank God for raising up 13 Transformational Prayer (TrP) facilitators after March training. Pray for more of them to fulfil the training requirements to be certified to facilitate Transformational Prayer.
  • Pray for Winnie to be well-rested in the LORD even as she serves actively in ministry.
  • Winnie was down with sinus infection for over 6 weeks, pray for God’s restoration & protection of her health.
  • Pray for Winnie to abide in the LORD daily.
  • Please pray for protection (physical, spiritual, emotional) as she battles in spiritual warfare 🙏🏻
  • Pray for Winnie's elderly parents (early 80s): Pray that they will take good care of their diet, health/habits and moderate their active lifestyle pace. Pray for them to continue experiencing God’s continuous protection and grace upon their lives and grant them quality of life (good health & strength).

  • SYFC has been reaching out to youths in Spore since 1957.
  • The staff & volunteers need the Lord's help to be creative & relevant in reaching out to the different types of youths even as they stay "Geared to the Times, Anchored to the Rock" (SYFC's motto). Appreciate your prayers.

  1. Pray that God will give wisdom & creativity to the staff & volunteers as they serve Him.
  2. Pray that the gospel will fall on good soil.
  3. Pray for healing of an irritation at my throat and for good health & a clear mind to keep serving. That I’ll have a good time with the Lord daily.

  1. Thank God for answering my prayer for a close relative whose sickness is now treatable.
  2. Thank God for watching over SYFC as we celebrate her 70th anniversary next year.

  • Preparation for the SU Youth Year-End Camp (6–8 December) and SUPA Children’s Camp (26–28 November).
  • Preparation of the SU Batam Campsite to welcome and host local campers, ensuring the facilities are ready for use.
  • Spiritual and physical preparation of staff to finish the year well, with strength, unity, and renewed commitment.
  • Thank God for a meaningful and refreshing staff retreat, where we enjoyed God’s presence, deepened our fellowship, and were renewed together as a team.
  • Thank God for a loving and supportive family, for their encouragement, understanding, and constant support throughout the year.
  • Thank God for good health and His faithful provision, for sustaining us and meeting our needs in every season.

Prayer requests

  • Pray for wisdom, strength, and unity as we prepare for the SU Youth Year-End Camp (6–8 December) and SUPA Children’s Camp (26–28 November). Pray that every detail will come together smoothly and that the camps will create space for young lives to encounter Christ and grow in faith.
  • Pray for the preparation of the SU Batam Campsite to welcome and host local campers. May the facilities be ready, safe, and well-used, and may the campsite become a place where young people experience God, build community, and grow together.
  • Pray for SU staff to be spiritually refreshed and physically strengthened as we come to the end of the year. Pray that we will not simply finish the year, but finish well with joy, faithfulness, unity, and renewed dependence on God

  1. Pray for Raynard to juggle well between ministry responsibilities and his theological study (assignments were lagging behind).
  2. Pray for wisdom to coordinate mission mobilization between churches, seminaries and mission agencies as we seek to send Singapore missionaries to the world.
  3. Pray for good preparation as Raynard is sharing at the Antioch 21 Mission Conference. The title of his workshop is “ My First Ministry Plan in the Mission Field”.
  • The past 3 months saw Raynard attending conferences in Kuching,Sarawak (CCOWE conference) and Thailand (Missionary from East Asia focus mentoring conference). It was a great time to know people and network for more mission sending and partnerships.
  • In Singapore, Raynard and his SIM team were going to churches for ministry deputation duties as well as attending local mission and church focussed meetings.

  • Thank God for the opportunities to preach in churches and share what God is doing in ministry and spiritual lessons through my personal life.
  • Thank God for the strength each day to face ministry challenges and opportunities as we continue to mobilize others for missions sending.
  • Thank God for His faithfulness, provision and goodness for my family needs.

  1. Thank God that the faculty members had a safe and fruitful ATA Conference in Indonesia and gained much insights in the area of curricular planning.
  2. Thank God that one of the two children had received his visa and has started pre-school.
  1. Pray for the dependent visa of the other child to be granted, so that she could start attending pre-school.
  2. Pray for all the students to be able to arrange field education partnerships with local churches. Some have yet to find their field education partnerships.
  3. Pray for Alvin as he prepares and teaches this term on Serving Cross-culturally to 1st year students.
  4. Pray for Daisy as she journeys with her mentee from BCC Membership class from now till Oct.
  5. Pray for Janelle’s exchange programme in Finland 10-22 Aug, then holiday 22-31 Aug. Pray for God’s protection, guidance and good learning.

There are 9 new students (Year1) and 9 continuing students (Year2) with 3 children coming from a total of 10 nations in the new academic year.

Our students come from Cambodia, East Asia, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Thailand, Timor Leste and Vietnam.

Alvin is teaching ‘Serving Cross-culturally’ in Term 1.

Daisy supports the Admin team in coordinating the booking of guest rooms at DTC.

  • Thank God for the students who turned up, especially those who showed an interest in knowing more about God.
  • I thank God for a smooth surgery and also for this time to rest and recover physically.

  • Pray these relationships with the students will continue to grow and open doors for gospel conversations.
  • Please pray for my full recovery, that I will regain my strength and energy, and gradually get back into the momentum of work.
  • Pray for my father who is going for diagnosis if he have dementia.

In August, we continued using casual board games and sports as pre-evangelistic activities to build rapport and relationships with students, with the hope of eventually leading them towards Gospel conversations.

Although I was not able to be there, I thank God for the students who turned up, especially those who showed an interest in knowing more about God. I’m also thankful for the opportunity to collaborate with the students in running Nerf Wars.

Personal Update�On 4 August, I underwent surgery to remove a 9cm fibroid that was pressing against my ovary and causing excessive bleeding during my monthly periods. I thank God for a smooth surgery—the fibroid was successfully removed, and I’m recovering well. I’m also thankful for this time to rest and recover physically.

  • Strength for Upcoming Camps & Future Ministry� Pray for wisdom and strength to continue to work as the ministry continue to grow. May the Lord guide our heart and mind as we make intentional plans to train up God loving disciples.
  • Health & Medical Tests�Pray for my wife as she just had her spinal surgery and is resting at home now. Pray for strength to be able to continue to be a good minister and a good steward for the Lord. Let not my heart be distracted or go astray.
  • FinancesAs the ministry finances expenses increased, higher percentage of my own support now need to be use for camps and operations. Pray for providence that God will send sponsors to come onboard and support us in our ministry. Pray also for wisdom in how to manage my finances better inorder to be able to support both my family and His ministry.

Ministry Updates

  • Ministry expansion – 1.We will be trying to start a new sports group for the special needs children with the intention to share the Gospel through sports. 2. We will also be trying to reach out to the children in Gracehaven in the 2nd half of the year. 3. I am now discipleing 2 youth leader to start a new basketball community ministry at Lorong Liew Lian to reach out to the children and youth in that community. 4. We will be starting another sports outreach group at Chen Shu Lan Childrens’ Home with the intention to share th gospel to the children there.
  • Camps Preparation- We are in the midst of planning and preparing for the year end camps from Nov to Dec. We will likely have a total of 14 sports carnival and 7 sports camp to reach out to the children and youth that we have been ministering since the beginning of the year.
  • Ministry Finances - As ministry expanded, recent meeting with the SportsNet Advisory Board shows that we are currently running a deficit hence i will need to increase the amount i need to raise monthly to cover the ministry operation expenses.
  • Thank you for the many opportunity to reach out to the different group of youth and children.
  • Grateful to be able to help the overseas partner to develop sharing materials that can help share the Gospel through sports
  • Thankful to God for allowing me to meet new coaches and youth leaders that i can journey and mentor with.

  • Pray for God’s protection over me and my family during my time away from them as I travel for the ministry retreat and mission trip in Mongolia.

Ministry Updates

  • Organising the SU Ministry Retreat as a dedicated time for the team to reflect on God’s leading, evaluate the ministry’s journey and prayerfully discern the strategic direction and priorities for 2027.
  • Preparing for Mongolia mission trip where our team will train pastors and leaders in youth ministry. We will also conduct music and worship workshops to strengthen their ministry.
  • Give thanks for wonderful mission trip to Taiwan, where we had the privilege of partnering with our missionary and the local church in reaching out to elementary and high school students.
  • Give thanks to God for the amazing first half of the year where we are able to ministered to over 500 children and youths collectively.

  • Pray that Suanne’s mom will have deep peace in the palliative care center, with her care needs well attended to, and that she may rest in comfort and God’s presence each day.

Ministry Updates

  • Pray for “Staying the Course” campaign, pray that it will be a effective and fruitful way to journey with those who is progressing in their mission journeys.
  • Stepped up into the leadership team of OMSG in 2026, pray that I will continue to stay abide in Christ for the upcoming challenges.
  • Smooth planning of OMSg 45th anniversary Charity Golf and Gala Dinner in August.
  • Good registration response for the Nov Kingdom Crew Mission Camp - a 5 days mission day camp for primary school children.
  1. Thank God for a smooth family trip to visit Greg’s extended family in Canada - especially visiting Greg’s 98yr old grandpa!
  2. Thank you for God’s loving hand over Suanne’s family in HK, and for blessing them with a smooth transition for her mom moving into a palliative care center.
