Explore the Ancient Olympic Games

Choose your own way of presenting this research. Cover things such as…

  • How were they run?
  • Who was involved?
  • What games were played?
  • Where were the games held?

Choose your own NZ Olympic Games Representative (Person) and create a biography about them

  • Include name, sport
  • Where they are based
  • What is their training schedule to prepare for the games
  • Any facts that relate to your person

What can you learn about Tokyo Japan?

Find out how to say “hello” in Japanese and ask someone’s name? What other words would be helpful if you were attending the Olympic Games? Record your learning and share the conversation with two others.

Choose a nation that is attending the Tokyo Olympic Games

  • Create an A4 flag
  • Create an A4 name for flag to use at the opening ceremony and put both of these on landscape
  • Ensure you are the only person with that nation

Now that you know what the values are, how could we link these to our school values? What would you be looking for from our students? Create a video as an example. Think about camera angles, background noise, props and interest for your viewer

What is required to be an Olympic athlete for nutrition. What would be required in a daily eating plan? Create a plan.

Do some research and create a whanau tree sharing the whakapapa of Ngā Atua Māori. Make sure you have the correct spelling for their names and include what the are responsible for.

Let’s be creative…..design a poem, song, rap, sign with the Olympic values

  • How many sports are there in 2021?

  • Create a chart to show your results
