Search for a topic in the dictionary (allows words commonly associated with that topic to come as an option with fewer keystrokes)

The language that is being used for writing

Type of words being predicted (All, Core, None)

Allows program to predict based on what is being typed and guess based on phonics

Allows students to add a second language if they need help with a word

Troubleshooting Tips

  • If CoWriter is lit up blue, but not showing up on page, refresh your browser
  • If it does not guess your word after 3 tries then trying using the microphone (speech-to-text) to say the single word
  • If after 3 spoken tries, switch back to typing and type your response
    • Remember to speak slowly, clearly and with a loud volume to be heard best
    • The less background noise the better when using this feature

CoWriter Keyboard

To Add the keyboard on the iPad go to SettingsGeneralKeyboardKeyboardsAdd new KeyboardSelect Co:Writer Keyboard-Co:Writer Universal

Then select Co:Writer Keyboard-Co:Writer Universal > Toggle Allow Full Access

Using the Co:Writer Keyboard (turn it on)

Open a typing document (such as Google Docs). When the keyboard comes up hold down the world icon. Select Co:Writer Keyboard -- Co:Writer Universal

Go back to the iOS keyboard (turn Co:Writer off)

Hold down the Book icon and then select the world symbol.
