  • I’d encourage everyone to practice math facts when you have a few spare moments. 3rd grade needs to work on quickly answering addition and subtraction problems. 4th grade needs those plus multiplication and division. Some have practiced more than others!

  • As the year progresses, the kids do more and more independently. I’ve seen growth already and look forward to seeing them get stronger in their skills. The 4th graders have been great leaders!

  • We love that the firefighters came to visit us this week. They always teach us lots of important things.   • Teachers are heading to a conference in Bloomington tomorrow - enjoy the 4 day weekend!
  • STEM bags are coming home today and the kids are super excited about this! A note went home last week - these are fun, extra activities. These are not graded and done at their own pace- just meant to encourage reading and learning.

DATES TO REMEMBER

  • Our field trip has been announced! I sent home a letter about this earlier in the week. I need to know by Friday, April 4 if an adult will be going with a student. The following students have let me know they will have a parent: Holly
  • Grandparents’ Day is Friday. The kids have been working hard! We can’t wait to share this with them.
  • There is a PTL taco dinner before church on Wednesday. The kids also sing at this service. Have them join us and do their Sermon study for 4th quarter if they haven’t yet!
  • Spring pictures are Thursday!
  • Our spring show is April 8th. This will be our program plus band.

  • Our Spring show is Tuesday. Kids need to be in the classroom at 5:45. Band students need to have their instruments set up as well. Dress nice.
  • Grandparents’ Day was wonderful. We are thankful for all those that could join us, and all those who helped make the day special.
  • STEM club is Thursday with and activity funded by a grant from Ag in the Class.
  • Easter party is coming - I’ve only had one family commit to something. Please let me know. I’ll send home a note next week, but a digital copy was sent out previously.
  • Arch field trip: the following students an adult going: Holly, Braiden, Kaleb, Nathan, Hudson, Lydia, Wyatt - please let me know by today if your child’s name is not on this list and you have an adult that is planning to go along.

  • Thanks for sending in permission slips for the Arch trip. If your kid didn’t give you the update note about who I need slips from, please ask them to empty their folders!

  • Midterms went home today. Some memory grades are lower because the kids owe a few week’s of memory - if this applies to your child, they were also given a new memory sheet.
  • Have a great Easter Break - I encourage you to take advantages of the church services offered this week!
  • Next week will be a bit chaotic - 2 field trips and I will be gone on my last conference day! Remember the kids will need sack lunches for both trips. I will send a reminder note home about the trips next week!

  • Lots of things are coming up - next week is testing. Please have the kids in school on time and ready to work hard! Thursday is our last STEM club of the year. Thursday is also our Eagle awards night - everyone in our class should be recognized for something this year!

  • The kids worked hard on their tests all week. We will receive those results later.
  • The kids sing Sunday for confirmation - a note was sent home about this. The kids will ALSO sing on May 18th to celebrate Mrs. Boester and Mrs. Rita on their retirements!

  • Track has a meet on May 8th. Track students are responsible for getting any work that they will miss from me on Wednesday. I do expect any work that they are given is DONE before school on Friday.
  • We will be working hard next week - we will have tests, spelling, and memory!

  • We had a prayer walk and Lemonade War today. We will be cleaning desks and the room on Monday, and I have something fun planned for the afternoon.
  • We just finished reading the Lemonade War and the kids LOVED it. I strongly recommend getting book 2 from the library for their summer reading - It’s called The Lemonade Crime…Many seemed really interested in reading this book!
