Recommendations
3. Employer or other (optional)
Each student must request a letter of recommendation from their teacher/guidance counselor and their ACE team leader.
Student can also submit an employer or other recommendation.
The recommendations should send as a PDF to the student via email.
The student can then attach the form to their application.
If the person writing the recommendation would prefer it be sent directly to the scholarship committee, please have it sent to your team lead.

Transcripts
The student must obtain an official academic transcript from their high school.
If school is willing to send electronically to you, attach file to application.
Many schools require the transcript to be mailed to a person other than the student, If so, please have it sent to your team leader.

Completion of Application
Only check the “Submit” button when you are ready for final submission. Once you check this box and click on Submit, you will not be able to make revisions to your application.
The application is completed only when all your letters of recommendation, the transcript and the application are completed.
At the end of the application, there is a section called “Transcript and Submit” (see image, right).
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR STUDENTS TO UNDERSTAND, you must NOT hit the box labeled “Submit” until the application is complete (see photo below). Once you hit submit, you will no longer have access to the application.
Check the “Save Box” if you want to come back later and make revisions to your application. When you are ready to submit, check the Save Box once more to be sure. All the information you have provided up to this point, will be saved for you. See below for image.

Deferral
Some students are accepted to school but decide to defer, or take a year off before college (sometimes known as a gap year). Over the last 2 years, we have had a lot of students defer due to COVID-19. That was okay, even if you plan on deferring in the fall, we still encourage you to apply for a scholarship. There is a question on the first page of the scholarship asking your intention. This will not affect your award!

Scholarship Support
While the ACE scholarship has refocused on ACE Industry majors, your mentors, the scholarship committee and the board still want to help each senior obtain as many other scholarships as possible by:
Seniors should use the ACE resources as they apply for outside scholarships.
