CASE 1�2 year old FC Mini Australian Shepherd

  • Came for epileptic seizures – MRI of the head normal
  • However also decreased proprioreception of the hind limbs bilaterally

CASE 2�1 year old MI Pomeranian

  • Scratches in the flank region
  • Head shaking

CASE 3�5 year old Labradoodle

  • 5month history of episodic pain coming from the LWS
  • Initially got better with pain relief
  • but episodes of pain continue - mainly during activity

  • A CT study in neutral and extended tail position is available

  • lesion L7 endplate - an OC lesion is likely, due to the irregularity of the cortical bone a schmorl's node is unlikely, but an atypical form can not be ruled out. A discospondylitis is unlikely, due to the sole involvement of the L7 vertebra and lack of soft tissue involvement.
  • Dorsal displacement of the cauda equina - a tethered cord appears likely.
  • Presumed congenital sacral malformation
  • Disc protrusion L7-S1 with no cauda equina compression but slight displacement of the left S1 dorsally.
