Drew Zaccardi started and threw four strong, giving us a 2-1 lead. But Watertown tied in 2-2 in the 5th. But then we went crazy with 9 runs in the 5th and 7 more in the 6th.

Key hits were by Sheehan (2-run double), RBI single by Andrew Ferraro, 3-run homer by Grassi (3 hits, 5 RBI).

Rob McHugh pitched 1.1 scoreless to earn the win. Adam Halley pitched a 1-2-3 seventh.

Game was 0-0 through 5 innings, as Tully had not yielded a single hit. But LC’s Gauthier was just as tough.

LC broke through win 3 runs in the 6th and 3 more in the 7th. Reading responded with 2 in our last at bat, but not nearly enough.

PS We drew LC (and Gauthier) in the first round in 2012 and this time were victorious, 1-0 in 8 innings as Tully struck out 16 and Sheehan hit a walk-off double

Mark was a good outfielder and a Middlesex League All-Star

Greg Altobello was our shortstop who batted .320 in 25 AB and was 4 for 4 in SB. Greg led the team in Assists. As a senior, he was a Middlesex League All-Star

Drew Zaccardi had 3 starts and 2 big Wins for us. In 2012 he had a superb season at 6-1

Anthony DeSimone batted .385 in 13 AB. In 2012 Anthony was a superb 5-tool player as everyday centerfielder who had some big hits and made some big plays

Paul Andrick batted .378 with

Our teams went 32-8 in the 2 years Paul was behind the plate

Mac Cook was one of our all-time greatest hitters. As out DH in 2011, he batted .357 with 17 Runs, 25 Hits, 18 RBI. Mac had 9 extra base hits and led the team with 3 homers

Mike Grassi played errorless left field and was a terrific hitter: .305 with 12 Runs, 19 Hits, �4 Doubles, and a homer. Grass had some big hits for us, as evidenced by his 16 RBI.

Adam Halley went 1-0 as he threw five shutout innings vs. Wilmington and was named to the Scanlon All-Tourney Team. We have never had a better kid and teammate than Halley.�Adam is RMHS Varsity Pitching Coach

Nick Scali was our center fielder who had great speed and a strong arm. �He had 30 putouts, 1 assist, with 0 errors. �Nick scored 11 Runs, had 16 Hits, 7 Stolen Bases, and walk-off single vs. Burlington

Chris Welch was a fantastic and valuable player. He played 3rd base and batted .379 �with 2 HR, 19 RBI, 9 SB.Welchy did the rare “20-20”, amassing at least �20 Runs and 20 Hits as well as “Quadruple Double” – double figures in Runs, Hits, RBI, BB/HBP

Tom Crowley. TC was a 2-year started at 2b, a tri-captain and excellent leader. Tom was effective offensively with 12 Runs, 14 Hits, and 10 RBI while leading the team with 7 Sacrifices. Tom was excellent on defense with just 3 errors in 47 chances

Rob McHugh was a really, really good pitcher with a good fastball and curve. He started 8 games, won 5, had 1 shutout, and ERA 2.71.�We have great seasons when we have a real good #2 pitcher and Rob was it.�Rob was also a highly regarded tri-captain

Jeff Covitz, Tri-Captain completed his future Hall of Fame career by batting .484 with 22 Runs, 30 Hits, 14 RBI

“Vatz” led the team in Runs, Hits, Doubles, Walks, BAve, On Base Ave, Slugging Pct. and had an OPS of 1.290

Jeff did both the “20-20” and the “Quadruple Double”.

At 1b, Jeff made just 2 errors in 111 chances

He was a 2x Middlesex League All-Star��

Jeff was one of our greatest all-time leaders and hitters, and men of character.

His career .439 average is 2nd all-time.
