A UNIQUE FACILITY, MANY USES

  • Steamboat has the only water ramp + trampoline complex in Colorado
  • Only other water ramp facility in Western U.S. at the Utah Olympic Park (UOP) in Park City closed late summer 2026 & potentially 2027
  • Many SSWSC programs use water ramps and/or trampolines for training and recreation

CRITICAL for SAFETY & PERFORMANCE

  1. Mastering new flipping, twisting, and off-axis tricks 1st on the trampoline, 2nd on water ramp, and 3rd on snow is critical to avoid catastrophic injuries
    1. A progression with a long-established record of safety
  2. Water ramps are more efficient than downslope airbags
    • ½ the number of stairs to walk = 2x the number of jumps per session
  3. Fun, skill progression, and volume during summer

    • Including SSWSC alums Jaelin Kauff and Landon Wendler
    • Jaelin and Elizabeth Lemley won 4 Olympic medals (including 1 Gold)!

THE UOP IS TOO FAR AWAY

Without a Water Ramp in Steamboat, a LOT of driving to Utah!

  • Depending on age, serious participants would require 15 to 30 days of ramping in Utah each summer
  • That would require 4 to 8 trips to Utah (pending camp lengths)
  • Debate the # of days and trips, hard to debate the pain and expense of travel!
  • Too far away to engage youngest local participants (youth under 10 years old)

Coaches should be coaching not driving!
