Biography

Giotto was born in 1276, he died January 8th, 1337.

Giotto was famous for painting. He has made

many pieces of art that are usually figures,

Landscapes, and scenery. His art movement

was during the renaissance, making him a

renaissance artist. Giotto has a natural, earthy

style. He also is known as a pioneer in the art

world.

Scrovegni Chapel Frescoes

This painting was made in 1305. It is based on a real chapel and takes place in Padua, Italy. It was painted at the end of the Medieval period. The Scrovegni Chapel Frescoes seems to be one of Giotto's best masterpieces.

painting is stiff Byzantine art. Child Christ and

Madonna are much bigger than the religious

Figures around them because of the hierarchy of

scale.

The scenic painting shows angels flying over people who are crying about Jesus being hung. It takes place in Padua, Italy. Giotto’s other piece ‘Crucifix’ is not to be confused with The Crucifixion.

This painting was made in 1325. The painting is scenery and takes place in Florence, Italy. It has earthy tones and shows people mourning over the loss

of St. Francis.
