Intervention Strategies
Changes in Instruction
➢ Grades K-2 is implementing a new reading series, MyView Literacy, Grades 7-8 implementing new reading series MyPerspectives Literacy
➢ We are in our second year of implementation with enVision Math for Grades K-8, aligned to the NJ Student Learning Standards
➢ Math consulting services from a professional learning specialist from Savvas to support the enVision Math Program
➢ Math & ELA instructional coaches have been hired in-house to provide job embedded professional development
➢ In Year 2 of Wilson Fundations Multisensory Phonics Program implemented in Grades K-3
➢ Partnership with Scholastic to provide literacy resources to address learning loss, purchased a brand new leveled book room with authentic texts to support small group instruction
➢Considering pilot programs for Science instruction. Added Science benchmark assessments in Grades 5 and 8
➢Expand Multilingual Learner program (formerly ESL) by adding an additional ML teacher. Moved to a High Intensity ML (ESL) program
➢ Added a STEAM class once per week for all Grades K-8
Response to Intervention:
➢ Working on implementing the NJ Tiered System of Support as it is designed in a phased 3 year process
➢ Continued focus in Title 1 program on skills and standards
➢ Continued training for the iReady program to support title students (personalized learning program to support individual student’s needs)
➢ Continue to fully staff and train our special education department to a fully inclusive model- NJCIE Grant
Professional Development:
➢ Built in PLC time into teachers schedules to allow time for planning and collaboration. Teachers meet weekly to examine data and align instruction, assessment and standards
➢Built in early dismissal days for students into the schedule to allow for additional professional learning time for staff to carry out new initiative and NJTSS
➢All Math teachers will receive 3 full day trainings from Savvas to support the new enVision Math program (Fall, Winter, Spring)
➢ Support from Math Learning Specialist: Teachers met with the math professional learning specialist to learn best practices in skill based lessons and rigorous math tasks that support the NJSLS throughout the school year
➢ Instructional Coaching: Teachers are working with our coaches on best practices and data analysis
