It gives me feeling of pride to see the encouraging and amazing year of 2025 – great results, player performances, new initiatives and strong steps to strengthen our Asian tennis ecosystem. Year 2025 begun bright, and brought with it amazing new avenues and opportunities of growth for the Asian Tennis Family and ecosystem.

The Core Vision of ATF, pivoting around strength of our regions and members and help create development pathways for the continent, has been the strong focal point of our working throughout the year. The ATF Brand and logo embodies this dynamism and meteoric rise of all of us together and we at the ATF, feel blessed to help deliver this dream for all of you!!

We defined key focal points for 2025 and begun with directed approach towards continuation of strengthening the development steps initiated in 2024. ATF, with the bold steps taken in 2024 moved forward to capitalize on our assets and achievements.

Welcome Speech

ATF Junior Tour – U14 & U16 – to strengthen the circuit and structure, new grades of events have been added to the Tour. With the Live scoring & Live streaming of the Tour, there has been an active increase in participation and new impetus is put on making the circuit far reaching and beneficial for our junior players.

It is also encouraging that Tennis Australia, Oceania and Tennis Europe – actively work with us on creating opportunities for the Tour.

ATF Young Tennis Stars Program – New Program has been launched in the Junior Player Development Pathway, to help foster young players from ages of 3-5, to imbibe tennis and encourage their growth through the dedicated program. The Program has been launched in Pilot stage in Uzbekistan, Philippines and Nepal in 2025, to focus on increasing the bench strength of players and importantly to help develop the skill set of coaches, who are focused on junior development pathway and help support the growth of tennis in the nations and beyond.

In order to make a world-class product ATF entered in partnership with top market experts «Comooon» & «Evolve 9» for top-notch delivery of the program and efficient transfer of expertise to the nations.

New Key Programs and Initiatives

ATF’s Initiative to Asian National Standings – new initiative has being launched by the ATF to help create a recognition of the immense hard work being put in by the National Federations, creating players and teams competing in various levels – by launching an Asian Standings for the Federations. This is launched to help the National Federations have another platform of recognition, which can help benefit them with the Governments as well as Olympic Bodies and receive valuable credit for the immense hard work.

ATF’s Recognition Program for Tennis Clubs & Centres in Asia – In order to help spread our reach and recognize the large network of established Tennis Clubs and Centres in Asia, ATF has launched the ATF’s Recognition of Tennis Clubs & Centres. This is to create a big connect amongst our Asian community and creation of a ready database of good, certified Centres in various nations, promoting the use as well as maintaining good standards.

The program has received energetic response and the network of our tennis community is looking to become wider and stronger over time.

New Key Programs and Initiatives

Pioneer edition Launch of “Asian Coaches Workshop” – another New step in Education Pathways by ATF. We are pleased to have launched the first edition of our Asian Coaches Workshop in partnership with Philippine Lawn Tennis Association to help bring together the great developing minds in same dynamic space with the global experts to learn, interact and work together for the growth of the Asian coaching community.

This has been a dedicated step by us in the growth ladder of the important Education levels for our Key contributors of our Tennis Ecosystem – Coaching Fraternity. The forum developed into an amazing platform for our fraternity to engage, exchange and evolve with the new evolving dynamics of our sport.

ATF helped bring together experienced and skilled speakers, in collaboration with our International Partners to create a memorable and enriching experience for our Mentors shaping the tennis of our region.

New Key Programs and Initiatives

With the spirit of engagement and growing our bonds, I am also pleased to share that our key pillar of international collaborations has strengthened more in this year too.

In continuation of our ongoing collaboration with Tennis Australia and French Tennis Federation, we worked together towards strengthening of the junior player development pathway for our Asian budding champions through the special programs of “Junior Elite Trophy event” and the “Roland Garros Junior Series Program”.

It has been heartening to see good cooperative synergistic relationships developing between regional federations and it is great to have more development initiatives grow in this manner. Taking forward our collaboration approach, we have been engaging strongly with other federations too, to help strengthen and share the best resources amongst the regions of the world. ATF is proud to have collaboration MOUs with Regional Bodies of OTF, CAT, COSAT & Tennis Europe.

ATF`s Collaborations

In keeping with our strong working approach, We also extended invitations to teams from many other regions to participate in our ATF Intercontinental 12&U Team Competition, supported by KTF for 2025 edition. This event has been our natural progression ladder, leading up from our strong Asian 12&U Team Competition and has now grown bigger and stronger with broader representation of world players with Asian teams competing with teams from Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Oceania, South America & Africa. COSAT also extended invitation to an Asian team to participate in COPA COSAT event in November and I am thrilled that our Asian flag flew high with team of Chinese Taipei taking the title in Boys event in Lima, Peru.

ATF 12&U Team Competition

I would like to also place on record our great strong collaborative working with all the department of the ITF. I would like to personally thank the ITF President for his support. ATF is committed and is working cooperatively with them to help deliver the development pillars of ITF in the region of Asia.

Another good establishment during the year has been the signing of MOU between ATF and the Edge Management – for expanded working with them for development initiatives for ATF and all Asian nations, ranging further beyond the wild cards offered to the federation for the Junior Orange Bowl. There is a lot of statistical and tactical support being shared by them for Asia and for having a training base for an Asian team in Europe.

I am also pleased to share that In keeping with the financial conscientiousness and helping strengthen the corpus of funds for development purpose, we have worked with focussed approach of our Budgets and thrust has been generated towards generation of sponsorship income as well as opportunities of sustainability & financial development of the Institution. Institution is working Professionally and steps are being continuously initiated to make it more stronger and well placed for the benefit of our region.

Importantly I would like to once again place on record the appreciation for the continued Development Fund Donation from Mr. Bulat Utemuratov for One Million Dollars for the year 2025. We value the contribution and look forward to continuing to deliver ahead. We also thank him and the KTF for hosting our Asian Tennis Family and AGM in the beautiful city of Almaty during the Almaty Open 2025. The gathering was like a beautiful family get together for all of us to be together and share our experiences and valuable uptakes from the year. Celebration together of our great players and the rise of our Continent as a whole.

Friends, we are energised and lots and lots more to bring to you. I remain committed to serve you and keep working together for our Vision 2027.

I continue to look forward to a great, active interactive working for the strong region and members of our region. The various sub-committees helped us immensely and the new ones from 2026 will continue to meet during the year and updates and recommendations will help us bring more dynamics in our system.

Pivoting on key vision of strengthening and binding together our Regional Strengths, focus and impetus was laid on interactions of the 5 ATF Regional Stakeholders Engagement Taskforce under the Chairmanship of our Regional Vice Presidents from East, Southeast, South, West and Central Asia.

ATF Regional Stakeholders Engagement Taskforce – East, Southeast, South, West & Central Asia

This core committee of ATF has been our Guiding force towards helping us achieve the development objectives for the Asian Tennis Community.

Our Chair & Mentor – Mr. Bulat Utemuratov, set aside the core principle of the Group which has been directed to help generate more strength and impetus towards the various development pathways of the institution. He energized the whole system through his personal gracious monetary contribution, which forms the backbone of all the various exercises undertaken.

The committee during their interactions have helped identify key areas and also encouraged President, Board of Directors and the professional team to keep focused in helping all developing nations along with Players, Coaches & Officiating Community

ATF Development Advisors Group

The Committee under the chairmanship of our Treasurer, Mr. Naser Al Marzooqi, who has extensive experience in the financial sector, keeps an update on the annual ATF Budgets and projections to help us deliver to our stakeholders.

Important new steps have been identified in the meetings to share with the Board of Directors to move towards the key vision point of strengthening the financial standing of our Institution further. Annual accounts are also duly discussed and accordingly presented to the Board of Directors and further to the Council by the Chair & Treasurer.

The Committee works saliently on upholding the principals of our Constitution and has been instrumental in helping us to evolve our documents in line with the international practices as well as policies of the International Tennis Federation.

Committee under Co-chairmanship of Mr. Tep Rithivit & Mr. Fuad Alrowaie has taken instrumental decisions to help strengthen and elevate the Junior Development Pathway and importantly in year 2025, helped embarked the ATF in taking monumental step by hosting the pioneer edition of “Asian Coaches Workshop” – solid step towards coach education pathway.

Active participation and intense engagement is the essence of the committee and we appreciate the great positive insights received through such meetings. They have helped deliver huge steps towards the key mission and Vision 2027.

 The committee under the leadership of our Co-Chairs has been extensively meeting and working strongly on creation of the strong market standing of our Institution and the Brand ATF.

Keeping key vision 2027 in mind and directions from Finance, Board & Development Advisors Group; this group has been focused to increase our network bandwidth and inclusion of market partners to harness and enhance our financial standing.

Many innovative steps are being taken, and new announcements will be forthcoming.

Committee under Co-chairmanship of Mr. Gilbert Ng and Mr. Jianbin Wan helped in making dynamic transitions and new opportunity breaks in our coveted ATF Junior Circuit. One of the major accomplishments post the suggestion of the Committee has been the introduction and implementation of the “ATF Officiating Structure”, in collaboration with the ITF Officiating department and dedicated to help our National Federation members in enhancing their local Officiating education levels and standards.

The committee has completed the base work to engage and understand the position of the Asian continent in all these three important areas with the International Tennis Federation as well as our National Member bodies.

Focus will be now on creation of new opportunities, circuits and collaborated efforts to include new nations to embrace the three pillars of the Tennis. Under our committee Chair, focused work is being done in alignment with the international principles of the ITF and their various departments managing the three streams separately.

Committee under chairmanship of Ms. Arij Al Mutabagani has taken enormous strides to help deliver the core principle of “Opportunities for All” & “Spread of Opportunities with adoption of ATF Prodigies” in the years.

Regular webinars have been held, and the committee is engaging to elevate the message to far greater heights.

Three core pillars have been identified for working – Coaching, Officiating & Administration and we have mentor programs working in all these directions.

Active tie ups and engagements for the initiative have been done with Tennis Australia and the program of LTA. Key sources and workings are also done in coordination with the ITF Committee and department.

• Asia has the largest share of the global playing population, followed by Europe, then North America.

• Asia contributes the highest number of tennis players (35.3 million) amongst the 199 nations, with one third (33.4%) of the total playing population coming from Asian countries

• Asia has the highest ratio of Courts to Club with more than 7 court per club, amongst all regions

​

• Just under a quarter (22.3%) of coaches are female and it’s Asia that leads the way with 28% of its coaches being women, slightly ahead of Oceania (27.4%)

ATF Strategic Priorities

ATF with its Vision 2027, has strongly delivered on expansion of our international partnerships and collaborations, not only with the Grand Slams but essentially with the Other Regional Federation Bodies across the world.

ATF through its partnerships and MOU share with Tennis Europe, Oceania Tennis Federation, Confederation of South American Tennis and Confederation of African Tennis works closely in a creation of non-conflicting event calendars and alignment of opportunities and resources across regions.

Through the development pathway of U12 Team Competitions – Intercontinental event hosted in Asia; teams from other regions are invited and compete with the top Asian teams. ATF provides for travel grants as well as other unique developmental opportunities during the stay in the region.

Proposals are under discussions to create new events and opportunities to align and work together to help harness the good potential from each of the regions.

Age Groups

Asian Tennis Federation has a comprehensive and focused pathway for all age groups of tennis players which provides adequate platform for them to excel.

ATF has undertaken various activities to enhance the performance of the deserving and talented players across all age groups with being on the following segments:

Young Tennis Stars

Key is to start early. Early start puts you ahead of the crowd and make you lead the crowd and with this aim in mind ATF is set to start “Young Tennis Star Program” for the Asian Players.

​

The program starts with the kids’ tennis for age group of below 5 years, by generating interest in tennis and motivating them to aim for professional career in the lovely sports of tennis. A series of promotional activities through videos, on court sessions and educating the coaches equipped to train this age group of players are being planned along with the players. The primary focus is to prepare kids for the ITF JTI, educate the coaches and more importantly the parents for efficient grooming of the young stars. ATF YTS program is structured for complete eco system around the kids tennis. Smaller nations in particular will be beneficiary at large with a proper and focused approach of ATF YTS.

12&U Age Group

Moving from grass roots and kinder stage will be the focus on the 12U age group. It is crucial age group, where in appropriate focus and hard work is required to set the tone for the tough professional development in a player’s career as a tennis player.

ATF comes in handy here with an established 12U team competition. The 12U team competition supported by KTF has been running successfully in Asia for many years now. The nations are keen in participation and take pride to be part of it. We had 37 Asian nations participating at the 12U team competitions in 2024.

Wild card opportunities have been created for the top performing players at 12U finals, where the top payers from each region gets a WC into the Grade A event and the second-best players from each regions gets a WC into any other event than the Grade A event.

A development grant is now also offered to top 3 boys and girls from the 12U finals.

Giving a platform to represent their nations at a tender age of less than 12 years is an unmatched pride and motivation for the top 12U players from nations to excel at higher age groups and ultimately in their careers as a tennis player.

The team competition is extensive project covering all Asian Nations with 5 regional events leading up to finals where the top 12 teams compete.

ATF in 2024 created a 12U Intercontinental tournament, where in 5 Asian team competed along with teams from Australia, New Zealand and Oceania, there by extended the tournament beyond Asian borders.

The event further grew in magnitude in 2025, with two more intercontinental teams invited from our partners- Africa & South America, taking it to a 12 team Draw event

In the past we have seen many winners at professional tournaments who are around the age of 14. This becomes a very important age group for the players, which is a make or break in a player’s pathway. We need to have a solid platform for our players so that they are well nurtured and groomed to become better and stronger professional players.

ATF has built up right platform and created opportunities for the players in this age group to help and support our Asian players.

ATF 14&U Circuit

We have a well-established ATF 14U circuit of tournaments, consisting of various grades of tournaments to match the levels and capabilities of different players. With more than 120 tournaments in 2025, 10000 active players and more than 3000 players on ATF 14U rankings, the ATF 14U circuit is pride of ATF.

ATF 14U circuit is not only giving an ideal platform for the players to compete but it has many other frills attached to benefit the top and deserving players.

ATF Camps

ATF started regional camps for the 14U players. 2 camps were held in 2024 – one for players from West / Central Asia and other for the players from East/ South East / South Asia. The camps were held before Asian Junior Championship to encourage active participation and minimise the travel costs. The camps will be back in ATF projects in 2026.

ATF Teams to Grade A

A new ATF initiative launched in 2024. ATF send a team of 2 boys and 2 girls with a coach to each of the 5 Grade A tournaments of Asia. The players are selected out of the entered players in the Grade A tournaments, who are outside the top 5 ATF rank. This initiative carries forward the benefits to the deserving players who are outside the top ranks and support them to move in top ranks.

14&U GSPDP/ ITF/ ATF Team to Europe

This is a GSPDP funded project administered by ATF. A team of 6 boys and 6 girls are sent to Europe to participate in rigorous Tennis Europe tournaments. The team is accompanied by 3 coaches.

The team extensively travel in Europe and participate at 4 tournament and a camp before the tournaments to prepare the players for the tour.

The selection criteria are well established and extensive to include the best of players from Asia, while giving chance to many players to stand a chance to be selected.  

Players are selected based on performance at World Junior Tennis Competition final qualifying and Development Championships Finals. 2 Boys and 2 girls are further selected based on rankings. With maximum cap of 2 boys and 2 girls from a nation, it gives chance to players from many different nations to be selected.

This is most sought for team for top players, as it does provide opportunity for the players to excel, face different conditions and opponents under the watchful eyes of travelling coaches.

Asian players have been performing exceedingly well at the tournaments covered by the team.

ITF Asia 14&U Development Championships

All Asian nations are grouped into regional qualifying and finals based on performance. Each year 2 nations are promoted from the qualifying events to the finals and likewise 4 nations are relegated to qualifying from the finals. All promotions and relegations are affected for following year.

The structure is very unique, being individual in nature but giving enhanced motivation to the players to be playing for the nations, as each performance and result count to the nations ultimate standing effecting the status of next year.

Road to Championships – Wimbledon For 14&U

ATF in collaboration with the Wimbledon has this another performance platform for the top performing juniors.

We have created an opportunity for 2 boys and 2 girls to be part of elite group of players and go to play at the “Championships 14&U” during the Wimbledon. Another Grand slam experience at such young age and to compete with best players from across globe is certainly an unique experience for the young stars.

We select the top 2 boys and 2 girls from the GSPDP/ITF Development Championships Finals to be part of this Asian team.

Elite Trophy For 14&U

 An excellent platform for the top boys and girls from Asia to perform at top level and have the grand slam experience as well at young age, setting the early launch to their tennis career. A joint initiative of ATF and Tennis Australia started few years back is already famous amongst the young tennis guns in Asia.

5 boys and 5 girls are selected from Asia to go and play at Australian Open venue and feel the buzz of AO. They compete with 3 other players from Australia, New Zealand and Oceania Region.

Playing at AO venue, under different conditions and against different opponents is a life time opportunity which any player will relish in 14U age group.

Asian Players have shown great results in the past at the event and hopefully the trend will continue and the Asian players will keep impressing the world.

16&U Age Group

ATF, in last 2 years have managed to plug in the gap, which was obvious from 14&U to 18&U. There was not much in plate for the players at this age, where the players tend to take the ultimate leap into the professional tennis of to the higher 18& U age group.

ATF started the 16& U circuit 2 years back and it is slowly and steadily gaining popularity, with more than 4000 active players in this age, who have participated in various tournaments in our circuit at ATF. There are more than 40 tournaments on the ATF junior circuit for this age group in 2025, with over 1100 players on the ranking list.

Roland Garros Junior Series For 16&U Age Group

ATF in collaboration with RG has launched the RG Junior Series of tournament in Asia, where the winning boy and girl is given a direct entry into the RG Juniors. This is an excellent opportunity for the top players to compete and try to gain access into the Junior GS on clay - French Open.

ATF on its behest also added two regional qualifying events which gives chance many more players to be part of this excellent competition and stand chance to play at finals to gain direct entry to RG.

18&U Age Group

This age group is more for competition and the players tend to play many tournaments to move higher up in the rankings. There is an extensive and well-established ITF WTT Junior circuit of various grades for the benefit of the players. Many players at this age already move on the professional man and women circuit.

From 2025, ATF provided financial and organizational support to few selected nations for conduct of ITF WTT Tournaments.

​

ATF as the regional body is deciding the hosting of the 2 J300- formerly termed Asian B1 tournament, which is one for Asia Oceania region and other for only the Asian players. These 2 events serve as ideal platform for the top Asian Junior 18& under player to excel and gain valuable points to go up higher in ranking in their quests to get entry into the Grand Slams.

In 2025, we successfully organized and held 160 tournaments using a professional real-time results broadcasting system (Live Score).

The implementation and stable operation of Live Score significantly increased the interest of spectators, partners, participants, and fans, and confirmed the high level of convenience and transparency of refereeing.

Holding 160 tournaments with Live Score was an important step in the development of tennis in our regions and confirmed the ATF's status as a leader in the use of modern digital technologies to promote tennis in Asia.
