Supporting Our School Community

  • MVCS students and families, like many other school communities, are experiencing greater food insecurity and other economic hardships.
  • In 2024, MVCS created “La Tiendita,” which is a family resource closet stocked with non-perishable food items, clothing, hygiene items, and other essential supplies.
  • If you would like to support La Tiendita, we currently have a need for the items listed below. Donations are greatly appreciated, and will be accepted in the main office:
    • Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, sensitive skin-friendly body lotion
    • Toothpaste and toothbrushes
    • Sugar, cooking oil, cereal, salt, beans, rice

Adult Spanish Classes at MVCS

Back by Popular Demand - The first semester classes were such a success, that we are continuing with Adult Spanish Language Classes for semester 2. Classes are tentatively scheduled to begin the week of February 2 at MVCS and run through May 13, with a make-up date if needed the following week. Classes are open to all MVCS Parents/Guardians, even if you have not taken these classes before or aren't a PTA member.

Novice classes (little to no knowledge of Spanish) Mondays from 3:30 to 4:30 PM

Early Beginner classes (basic understanding of Spanish rules) Wednesdays from 5 to 6 PM

"Ms. Cordova makes Spanish learning at any level fun, approachable, and engaging. She incorporates class feedback, song, story, and conversational practice to make a well-rounded learning experience. I love her take-home ideas about how we can practice Spanish with our kids! Win win!" -Jackie Toscas

Open to all MVCS Parents/Guardians, even if you have not taken these classes before or aren't a PTA member. Classes for the semester cost $100, and register and pay here. Questions? Contact kita.mccord@gmail.com.
