What is Academic Dishonesty?

Academic dishonesty is taking work done by someone else and claiming you did it.

It can also be unauthorized communication during a testing situation.

Examples of Academic Dishonesty

  • Copying someone else’s work (with or without their knowledge).
  • Giving someone your homework to copy.
  • Finishing an assignment for someone else.
  • Plagiarising or using someone’s words, ideas, or pictures without giving them credit.
  • Putting your name on an assignment that someone else completed.
  • Talking with someone during a test in order to give or get answers.

What can happen if I am caught?

  • If it is a quiz or test grade, the student(s) will be given an alternate assignment with a maximum grade of 50.
  • Parent(s) will be notified.
