Instructional Goal:

Participants to be able to demonstrate the ability to use google slide to create an interactive jeopardy game that engages student learning and technology in the classroom setting.

Performance Goal:

  • Participants will be able to successfully create an interactive game by showing mastery of at least 80% or higher on module assessment.
  • Participant will be able to develop a functioning interactive jeopardy game.

Step 1: Insert Table

  • Insert Table

  • Resize/Color the Table to your liking

  • Label game Categories

Row = Categories

  • Label money values

Columns = Money Value

Step 2: Create a Home/Question Slide Template

  1. Create a new slide

  • Insert the Category Question and its’ corresponding Money Value by clicking on the Insert Text Box icon.

  • Insert CHECK ANSWER button by inserting another Text Box.

  • Insert House silhouette clipart
  • Insert > Image > Search the Web

Step 3: Linking the Home and Check Answer Button

  1. Link the House image to the Main Jeopardy Game Board Slide by clicking on the image then clicking “Insert Link” icon. Select the appropriate slide to link.

  • Duplicate the Home/Question Slide that was created in Step 2 then return to the Question Template.

  • Link to the “Check Answer” button to the Answer page by highlighting the text and selecting “Insert Link” icon. Be sure to link to NEXT SLIDE”

  • Go to the Answer slide and create a text box for the answer.

TIP: This step will make creating the rest of the jeopardy board easier. Do not create individual questions/answer yet.

Step 4: Duplicate the TWO template slides to create the rest of the Jeopardy Board

  • Now that your buttons are linked you need to simultaneously duplicate the BLANK Question and Answer template slides.

  • Press and Hold Ctrl then click the TWO slides. Both Slides should be orange. Next, duplicate by right clicking and selecting Duplicate or pressing Crt+D.

  • This will be done (duplicated) for each question so be sure to CHANGE the Questions, Answers and Money Value Amount Texts.

TIP: Create the Questions and Answers Slides in sections. For example, by category.

Step 5: Linking the Jeopardy Board to Questions

  1. Return to the Jeopardy Board.

  • Highlight the Money Value on the Jeopardy Board then Link to its corresponding slide.
  • Highlight > Insert Link > Slide #

TIP: The question slides will have the colored “Check Answer” text.

  • Self check your Jeopardy game to see if it is fully functioning by clicking “Present”
