Prerequisites

Candidates for the Google for Education Certified Trainer program must demonstrate subject-matter expertise by achieving the Trainer Essentials certificate and delivering Google for Education training. All existing Google Educator certificates are also valid for application.

Google Education Trainers are demonstrated advocates of Google web technologies who show:

• A strong history of Google training in schools
• Engaging public speaking skills
• An ability to distill content into creative, informative learning materials
• Enthusiasm and passion for the role of technology in education

Prerequisite:

• Google Educator exams (complete all 5 within 90 days)

Preferred qualifications:

• A contributor to the larger edtech community via blogs, social media, or other networks
• Knowledge of other edtech web technologies; supporter of web-based learning

Google for Education Required Exam Bundle 4 core exams required for the Google for Education Trainer Essentials qualification.

4 exams required to achieve the Trainer Essentials qualification: GMail, Calendar, Docs and Drive, and Sites. You will need to purchase and pass one of the optional exams to complete the 5 exam minimum in order to receive your certificate.

The Google for Education Trainer Essentials exams are designed to challenge your knowledge and understanding of Google for Education and other Google tools. Upon receiving a passing score for at least 5 exams, you will receive a certificate which shows proof of qualification. Your certificate will appear within 48 hours of passing the final exam.

After passing the first exam, you will have 90 days to complete the remaining exams. Each exam expires 90 days after passing. If you have not completed all 5 exams within 90 days, you will need to repurchase and retake any and all exams that have expired.

​

Each exam will have 90 minutes to answer the questions. You must complete the test within 48 hours of starting the test or it will expire.

​

Passing score: 80%

Time limit: 90 minutes

Total questions: 60

​

The following exams are required to complete the Trainer Essentials qualification:

• Google for Education: Docs and Drive Exam
• Google for Education: Sites Exam

You must pass at least one of the following exams to complete the Trainer Essentials qualification:

• Application Deadline: Note the applicable time zone
• Approximately 30 innovative educators from around the world are selected to attend each Academy based on the merits of their online application
• In 2014, preference was given to ‘in region’ applicants
• You do not have to be a classroom teacher to apply
• The Innovator program is about action - not about being “filled up”
• You must be passionate about education and your community
