How to Best Use This Tutorial

The following slides alternate between videos and slides with text and graphic illustrations.

For each part of the tutorial, first watch the video to see Chris Torrence demonstrate what you will do, and then pause on the slide that follows while you do the actual steps.

If you are doing this tutorial in a classroom with a partner, one person should be the “navigator” with these instructions on their computer, and the other person is the “driver”, who is actually using the Media Linker to locate and connect the videos.

Solving Problems

If the media list and touchpoints are working as expected, continue to the next slide.

If not, check these things:

  • Did you remember to click the blue triangle to open the configuration window, and check “input to respond to” and “start” and “end of media”, and to check the appropriate touchpoing and LED numbers? (see slide 11)
  • Was the volcano video showing in the web-view window when you clicked the “+” icon? Check to make sure your media list item says “Safe YouTube video”, and not just “web-page”. If you accidentally added a web-page, use the trash can icon to delete it and try again.
  • Is there a green oval (not red) at the upper-right corner of the screen that says “status: active”? If it’s red, or the touchpoints just aren’t responding, try the reset procedure on the “R” card (slide 27)
