Status:

  • Kamodo basic functionality
    • Unit transformation,
    • coordinate transformation
    • command line access
  • High-level additions to Kamodo:
    • Dashboard
    • API access
    • 4D interpolators
    • Satellite fly-through
  • Readers for geospace models:

O2-01 Papers:

  • Pembroke et al: Kamodo: A functional API for space weather models and data
    • Functional programming based on SymPy and Python in Heliosphere Community (PyHC) packages.
    • Remove impediments for cross-disciplinary research.
    • Plans: Containerization and API development.

Paper to be submitted to Journal outside of ISWAT issue.

  • De Zeeuw et al: Kamodo Visualization
    • Use of Plotly, customized plots implemented, demo page.
    • Plans: build out plot options and add features in plot scenes.
  • Rastaetter et al.: Geospace access in Kamodo
    • Improvements over CCMC online visualization: higher numerical accuracy, 4D (time, space), interactive plots.
    • Same interface for 3D (time+2D) ionosphere electrodynamics and 4D (time+3D) global model outputs.
    • Plans: inclusion of mapping methods, standardization of variable names.
  • Ringuette et al.: Kamodo-based tools for Model Data Accessibility
    • Eliminate need to deep-dive into model output formats.
    • Demonstrate satellite-fly-through workflow.
    • Explain reconstruction workflow for mission planning.
    • Present workflows of model-data comparison studies.
    • Plans: Access from other programming languages (Fortran, C, C++ calling Python).

A second paper on methodology is planned for journal outside of ISWAT issue.
