2. Have you ever been to a parade? Describe it.
3. If Jesus visited your city, what would people wave and what would they shout to greet Him?
4. Share at your table what you remember about the Last Supper.
5. Why do you think Jesus took the Apostles out to the garden with him?
6. What do you remember about Jesus being arrested?
7. Tell the story of the trial of Jesus.

22 While they were eating, he took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, and said, “Take it; this is my body.” 23 Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, and they all drank from it. 24 He said to them, “This is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed* for many. 25 Amen, I say to you, I shall not drink again the fruit of the vine until the day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.” 26 Then, after singing a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives

29 Peter said to him, “Even though all should have their faith shaken, mine will not be.” 30 Then Jesus said to him, “Amen, I say to you, this very night before the cock crows twice you will deny me three times.” 31 But he vehemently replied, “Even though I should have to die with you, I will not deny you.” And they all spoke similarly. 32 Then they came to a place named Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.”

37 When he returned he found them asleep. He said to Peter, “Simon, are you asleep? Could you not keep watch for one hour?

43 Then, while he was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived, accompanied by a crowd with swords and clubs who had come from the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders. 44 His betrayer had arranged a signal with them, saying, “The man I shall kiss is the one; arrest him and lead him away securely.” 45 He came and immediately went over to him and said, “Rabbi.” And he kissed him. 46 At this they laid hands on him and arrested him.

60 The high priest rose before the assembly and questioned Jesus, saying, “Have you no answer? What are these men testifying against you?” 61 But he was silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him and said to him, “Are you the Messiah, the son of the Blessed One?” 62 Then Jesus answered, “I am; and ‘you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Power

and coming with the clouds of heaven.’” 63 At that the high priest tore his garments and said, “What further need have we of witnesses? 64 You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?” They all condemned him as deserving to die.

69 The maid saw him and began again to say to the bystanders, “This man is one of them.” 70 Once again he denied it. A little later the bystanders said to Peter once more, “Surely you are one of them; for you too are a Galilean.” 71 He began to curse and to swear, “I do not know this man about whom you are talking.” 72 And immediately a cock crowed a second time. Then Peter remembered the word that Jesus had said to him, “Before the cock crows twice you will deny me three times.” He broke down and wept.

21 They pressed into service a passer-by, Simon, a Cyrenian, who was coming in from the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to carry his cross. 22 They brought him to the place of Golgotha (which is translated Place of the Skull). 23 They gave him wine drugged with myrrh, but he did not take it. 24 Then they crucified him and divided his garments by casting lots for them to see what each should take.

25 It was nine o’clock in the morning* when they crucified him. 26 The inscription of the charge against him read, “The King of the Jews.”

37 Jesus gave a loud cry and breathed his last. 38 The veil of the sanctuary was torn in two from top to bottom. 39 When the centurion who stood facing him saw how he breathed his last he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!”.

43 Joseph of Arimathea, a distinguished member of the council, who was himself awaiting the kingdom of God, came and courageously went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. 44 Pilate was amazed that he was already dead. He summoned the centurion and asked him if Jesus had already died. 45 And when he learned of it from the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph.

22.Durante la comida Jesús tomó pan, y después de pronunciar la bendición, lo partió y se lo dio diciendo: «Tomen; esto es mi cuerpo.» 23. Tomó luego una copa, y después de dar gracias se la entregó; y todos bebieron de ella. 24. Y les dijo: «Esto es mi sangre, la sangre de la Alianza, que será derramada por una muchedumbre. 25. En verdad les digo que no volveré a probar el zumo de cepas hasta el día en que lo beba nuevo en el Reino de Dios.»

29.Entonces Pedro le dijo: «Aunque todos tropiecen y caigan, yo no.» 30.Jesús le contestó: «En verdad te digo que hoy, esta misma noche, antes de que el gallo cante por segunda vez, me habrás negado tres veces.» 31.Pero él insistía: «Aunque tenga que morir contigo, no te negaré.» Y todos decían lo mismo.

32. Llegaron a un lugar llamado Getsemaní, y Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: «Siéntense aquí mientras voy a orar.»

37.Volvió y los encontró dormidos. Y dijo a Pedro: «Simón, ¿duermes? ¿De modo que no pudiste permanecer despierto una hora?

43. Jesús estaba aún hablando cuando se presentó Judas, uno de los Doce; lo acompañaba un buen grupo de gente con espadas y palos, enviados por los jefes de los sacerdotes, los maestros de la Ley y los jefes judíos. 44. El traidor les había dado esta señal: «Al que yo dé un beso, ése es; deténganlo y llévenlo bien custodiado.» 45. Apenas llegó Judas, se acercó a Jesús diciendo: «¡Maestro, Maestro!» y lo besó. 46. Ellos entonces lo tomaron y se lo llevaron arrestado.

60. Entonces el Sumo Sacerdote se levantó; pasó adelante y preguntó a Jesús: «¿No tienes nada que responder? ¿Qué es este asunto de que te acusan?» 61. Pero él guardaba silencio y no contestaba. De nuevo el Sumo Sacerdote le preguntó: «¿Eres tú el Mesías, el Hijo de Dios Bendito?». 62. Jesús respondió: «Yo soy, y un día verán al Hijo del Hombre sentado a la derecha de Dios poderoso y viniendo en medio de las nubes del cielo.» 63. El Sumo Sacerdote rasgó sus vestiduras horrorizado y dijo: «¿Para qué queremos ya testigos? 64. Ustedes acaban de oír sus palabras blasfemas. ¿Qué les parece?» Y estuvieron de acuerdo en que merecía la pena de muerte.

69.Pero lo vio la sirvienta y otra vez dijo a los presentes: «Este es uno de ellos.» 70. Y Pedro lo volvió a negar. Después de un rato, los que estaban allí dijeron de nuevo a Pedro: «Es evidente que eres uno de ellos, pues eres galileo.» 71. Entonces se puso a maldecir y a jurar: «Yo no conozco a ese hombre de quien ustedes hablan.» 72. En ese momento se escuchó el segundo canto del gallo. Pedro recordó lo que Jesús le había dicho: «Antes de que el gallo cante dos veces, tú me habrás negado tres», y se puso a llorar.

21. En ese momento, un tal Simón de Cirene, que es el padre de Alejandro y de Rufo, volvía del campo; los soldados le obligaron a que llevara la cruz de Jesús. 22. Lo llevaron al lugar llamado Gólgota, o Calvario, palabra que significa «calavera». 23. Después de ofrecerle vino mezclado con mirra, que él no quiso tomar, 24. lo crucificaron y se repartieron sus ropas, sorteándolas entre ellos. 25. Eran como las nueve de la mañana cuando lo crucificaron. 26. Pusieron una inscripción con el motivo de su condena, que decía: «El rey de los judíos.»

37. Pero Jesús, dando un fuerte grito, expiró. 38. En seguida la cortina que cerraba el santuario del Templo se rasgó en dos, de arriba abajo. 39. Al mismo tiempo el capitán romano que estaba frente a Jesús, al ver cómo había expirado, dijo: «Verdaderamente este hombre era hijo de Dios.»

43. intervino José de Arimatea. Ese miembro respetable del Consejo supremo era de los que esperaban el Reino de Dios, y fue directamente donde Pilato para pedirle el cuerpo de Jesús. 44. Pilato se extrañó de que Jesús hubiera muerto tan pronto y llamó al centurión para saber si realmente era así. 45. Después de escuchar al centurión, Pilato entregó a José el cuerpo de Jesús.
