ultio Belimici
(Belimicus' Revenge)
In this story, we will see that Belimicus did not take the loss of the boat race very well at all. A proud chieftain who is not used to losing, he soon comes up with a way to get back at those whom he blames for his own mistakes
We will also start to see a new verb tense - The Pluperfect Tense.
This tense is used to show that a verb's action took place further back in the past than another verb that already in a past tense.
In English, it is "had ____" or "have ____"
(Bob failed the test after he had lost his class notes.)
In Latin, the verb ending -era- gives us the pluperfect form
(ambulaverant = they had walked : audiveras = you had heard)
