Guiding/Directional Tactile tile
Warning Tactile tile
Tactile guiding and tactile warning are special textured surfaces designed to help visually impaired people navigate safely in public spaces by feeling them with their walking stick or under their feet.
Tactile guiding paths — which have long raised lines — are laid on the floor to lead passengers from the station entrance to important areas like the ticket counter, waiting hall, platforms, or FOBs.
Tactile warning surfaces — which have raised dots or bumps — are placed at places where extra caution is needed, such as at the edge of the platform before the train tracks, near staircases, or direction change. These warning surfaces signal the person to stop or be alert as there may be a drop or obstacle ahead.
