Light, Darkness, and blindness

Hebrews 3:12-14 ESV

12 Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart,

Where am I struggling to trust, believe and rest in Jesus’ leading in my life?

This is an area of danger in my life.

12 ..unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God.

“fall away”- aphistēmi

made up of apo “off,” and histemi “to stand,” the compound word meaning “to stand off from.” willful

​

An unbelieving heart, will lead us to stand off from God who is alive, and wants to be a moving, active presence in our lives.

As to say “I don’t want what you are offering because I don’t think it is good”

​

Why is it so hard to believe in Jesus’ way?

Where is help for me and others?

Matthew 7

3 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’

when there is the log in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

13 But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,”

Exhort

14 For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end.

1 John 2:18-19

Truth : We experience living with Jesus when we move and live in his ways because we trust him.

so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God. 14 For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ.

Talking to ourselves and others about how Jesus coming into our lives is such a rescue and is good news.
