Conclusión

  • La mayoría de las causas de hematuria en pediatría representan condiciones médicas que a menudo requieren referencia a nefrología.
  • Las indicaciones para referir al urólogo son más limitadas e incluyen cálculos que no pasan espontáneamente o son mayores de 5 mm de diámetro, lesión renal asociada con trauma, lesiones anatómicas o hematuria macroscópica que parece originarse en el tracto urinario para la cual no se ha identificado una causa

La proteinuria es la presencia de proteínas en la orina, tanto si es normal, resultado de situaciones fisiológicas especiales, o patológica. Esta última condición se suele denominar simplemente proteinuria.
