Introduction to 2D art is a survey of 2 dimensional art media. Students will learn about the elements and principles of art. Students will be explorings different forms of 2D art in each unit.

Course Objectives

Introduction to 3D art is a survey of 3 dimensional art forms. Students will be learning about taking a 2D drawing and converting it into a physical art work with mass. Each unit is exploring either the additive or subtractive methods of construction.

What do we do?

  • The point and purpose of Drawing 1 is to cover the very basics of drawing.
  • Cover basic drawing medias: Pencil, Color pencil, ink, marker and pastels.
  • This is a semester long course

Ceramics 1: Creating a foundation for hand building and wheel throwing techniques. Students will also be exploring glazing techniques.

Ceramics 2: Exploring sculptural ceramics and advanced wheel throwing techniques.

Ceramics 3: Student choice projects. Students will be researching and creating project proposals for their work allowing them to explore the world of ceramics.
