1. Provide multiple meeting options: (still in discussion to be voted at August meeting)�

A) Propose two Satellite meetings per month (Satellite club meets for coffee on Tuesday mornings for approximately 30 minutes).

B) One Zoom meeting per month on first Thursday of month

C) Two in-person lunch or dinner meetings on Thursdays (TBD)�

2. Volunteers at My Brother’s Table on the first Monday of the month (our commitment for past six years) will get credit for TWO meetings�

3. Volunteers for Food Distribution at Salvation Army on last Saturday of the month (multiple year commitment) will get credit for TWO meetings.�

4. Focus on Corporate memberships with Lynn Public Schools, Lynn Fire Dept. Lynn Police Dept. etc. Peter’s PP presentation on August5 will educate our members on options.

WORK IN LYNN SCHOOLS

  • Scholarships for college-bound seniors
  • 8th Grade Recognition Program (Recognize one 8th grade student from each Lynn school, public, charter and private)
  • Dictionary Project (some 1300 third grade students in LPS receives a dictionary)
  • Special Games (49 years sponsor the Special Games for disabled LPS students)
  • Thanksgiving Football Luncheon (host English, Classical, KIPP Tech, St. Mary’s)
  • Teacher of the Year Award (recognize Lynn teachers)

My Brother’s Table (1st Monday of the month)

  • Boston Mobile Food Bank(food distribution at Salvation Army, last Saturday of month)
  • Succeed in Style (clothing donations for Lynn Shelter Association)
  • Bell ringing for Salvation Army (raise money for Christmas gifts)
  • Santa’s Island (raise money to purchase gifts for needy local families)
  • Scholarships to Camp Rotary (Camp Rotary is the oldest, on-going Rotary project in the world)
  • ESL Tutoring (work with LEO clients, Lynn Economic Opportunity)

WORK AROUND THE WORLD

  • Kayak for Safe Passage (support Dr. Wolters who kayaked from Maine to Guatemala to raise money for schools)
  • Polar Plunge (raise money for the eradication of Polio)
  • Rise Against Hunger AKA Stop Hunger Now (package/ship 10,000 meals sent all over the world)
  • End Hunger NE (package/ship meals to soup kitchens in New England)
  • Relay for Life (raise money for cancer research)
  • ShelterBox USA (for disaster survivors)
  • Rotaplast - Raise money and volunteers for cleft palate surgeries in Philippines
  • PP & J sandwiches (My Brother’s table during Pandemic).
  • Brown Bag lunch distribution (GLSS - Greater Lynn Senior Services)

CLUB PLAN

  1. Provide service opportunities for members to attend. Make connections with local organizations who help people. (Salvation Army, GLSS, My Brothers Table, Catholic Charities)
  2. Put service projects on social media and in papers to let people know that there is an organization that wants to help folks.
  3. Have a communications director to do this work.
  4. Get known in community for service
  5. Allow various types of memberships. Individual. Corporate. Service only. Be flexible.
