  • Our positive discipline for learning and life policy is on our website, we encourage parents/carers to take a look.
  • Our uniform policy is on our website and again, we encourage parents/carers to take a close look.
  • Mobile Phones / devices - we will update you in due course about our plans regarding phones and smart watches in line with the government’s new guidance on ‘no phones in schools.’
  • Social media - unfortunately, we have frequent and significant concerns around social media use out of school. We ask that parents support with ensuring that social media use is kind and appropriate. Thank you.
  • Attendance - we cannot stress how important consistently high attendance is for students. It ensures they keep up with work, maintain friendships and the routine helps with their mental wellbeing.

Transition Days - Thursday 18th and Friday 19th June

  • The two days have been designed to give the students a feel of what their secondary school days will be like.
  • They can travel in on the bus (if they wish) or they can walk to school.
  • We recommend that students bring a bag, a pencil case and perhaps a notebook. Clothing should be comfortable and appropriate for PE.
  • They will eat in the canteen, and the food will be provided by the School.
  • They will have a break during the morning. Students should bring their water bottle and an appropriate breaktime snack if they wish.
  • They will meet staff and begin to make new friends.
  • They will access a variety of activities across the two days.
  • They will move around the building supported by staff and student helpers.

September 2026 - start of the year

  • The start of term will be staggered to ease with transition. The times of the day will change (arrive by 8.20am, move to their Personal Development and Growth lesson at 8.25am and the day will end at 2.55pm). Buses will leave at 3pm.
  • Y7, 11, 12 and 13 will be in school on Wednesday 9th September where they will have some extended time with their PD and G mentors. All other year groups will be back on Thursday 10th September.
  • This will allow key messages to be delivered to students and for them to get used to the school again with fewer students present on their first day.

Planners should be brought to school each day. Students must also bring an appropriate reading book and a fully equipped pencil case each day. Pencil cases and planners should be on desks every lesson.

Please can parents/carers support by looking at planners regularly for:

  • Timetable information – when do they have PE? Food?
  • Homework information – when it is due in, what has been set?
  • Key dates, information, guidance, phone numbers etc
  • Praise stickers, notes from teachers
  • Please can parents/ carers sign each week in the parent comment box? There is space for any notes as well.

If a student forgets to bring their planner, a temporary one will be provided.
