Create a playlist with 3-5 songs that make you think of your hometown or places you have lived.

Write a 4-5 paragraph essay that provides personal, historical, geographical and cultural context about each song on your playlist.

Hometown Playlist Assignment

Create a playlist of 3-5 songs that make you think of your hometown, the places you have lived, your heritage, and the experiences that have made you who you are today.

Research the songs and connections to the places and cultures it represents.

Draft 3-5 paragraphs sharing information about you and the songs on your playlist.

• Begin with an introduction paragraph about where you are from: Where are you from? What places do you consider to be home? What cultures and experiences have shaped you?
• For each body paragraph include:
• Your personal connection to the song: Why do you like this song? Why does it remind you of this place you call home? What experience does it represent? When did you start listening to this song? How does it make you feel?
• Information about the song: title, musician, song writer, genre, etc.

Your document should include:

• The title of your playlist and a link to the playlist
• Your name
• A list of the songs on your playlist
• A photo, image or video related to the playlist and your hometown
• Your 3-5 paragraph playlist essay
