Partner Community Guidelines

  • ASK FOR REVIEWS!
  • Prioritize Product Detail Page engagement over other support needs.
  • Approve ALL reviews and questions (unless it’s clearly spam).
  • If reviews or questions seem fake or spammy, we will take care of those!
  • Respond to ALL reviews and questions. After you respond, click “resolved.”
  • Be respectful and play nice (no cursing/profanity, harassment, or hate speech)!
  • Kill them with kindness on negative reviews or questions.
  • If your tool is compared to others in our store, discuss the differences in features and prices. Encourage Sumo-lings to find the best tool for their use case. Do not trash talk other AppSumo tools or tell Sumo-lings that they should switch to yours.
  • Underpromise: If Sumo-lings ask for features – don’t promise them, say you will consider adding to the roadmap.

Activation

When a Sumo-ling buys a product license, they will then proceed to activate their new license on AppSumo. An "activate" notification will then be sent to your API. Based on the response, the product key will be generated and activated for users.

To do this, your API must return a 201 Created response code. A different response code will create the license with the inactive status.

�🚨 Important:

  • The license uuid should be the product key, not an email address because the license uuid is unique and the same in every request.
  • It is critical that all license uuid’s are generated by AppSumo. We ask our partners to never manually create a license uuid. This will ensure the connection between you and AppSumo is in proper working order. If you receive any requests for assistance regarding manual license uuid generation, please contact our support team directly in your _support slack channel.
