INTRODUCTION

Family planning is an essential aspect of reproductive health, as it allows individuals and couples to make informed decisions about the size, spacing, and timing of their families. Hadiza story is not unique. Many women in Narayi Community face similar challenges in accessing family planning services.

Level of awareness and the most commonly known family planning methods among women in Narayi Community

  • 12.96% of women were not aware of family planning
  • 87.04% of women were aware of family planning

  • Implants, Natural method and others are the most commonly known family planning with 18% follow by Condoms and Pills with 17% and 16% respectively while injections is the lowest with 12%.

CONCLUSION

The study on family planning awareness, sources of information, challenges, and perception among women in Narayi Community has provided important insights into the reproductive health needs of women in the community. The findings indicate that while most women are aware of family planning methods, there are still significant challenges that hinder their access to these services. Therefore, it is important that policymakers, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders work together to address these challenges and improve access to family planning services for women in Narayi Community.

Based on the findings of this project, it is recommended that efforts be made to

  • Increase awareness and education on family planning methods, benefits, and services among women in Narayi Community.
  • Develop strategies to address partner opposition and promote decision-making, and cultural and religious sensitization.
  • Improve access to family planning services by strengthening healthcare infrastructure, reducing distance and financial barriers, and addressing other challenges faced by women.
